FREE tour of downtown Salt Lake City

by John_P_LSU Online Now Apr 23, 2003 at 10:34 AM

I was connecting through SLC on Monday (going from Boise, Idaho to Houston) and I learned about a very cool service. There is a FREE tour shuttle van from the Salt Lake City Airport to Historic Temple Square (downtown) and back that you can use if you have a layover of 2 hours or more. The service is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They don't allow luggage on the van, so put your bag(s) in a locker or check it. You won't, necessarily, be on the same van for the ontbound and inbound trips, so presumably, if your layover is long enough, you can tour all over downtown for a few hours and then return back for your onward flight. I will be adding this to my Salt Lake City page. more info at www.utah.com/cities/slc_free_tour.htm
