It is easy to get around Salou, the bus's are good and cheap. There is also a tourist train that trundles along the road taking you through the town and onto Portaventura. For further afield try the train horarios.renfe.es/hir/ingles... You can pensioners discount if you are of a certain age.

The Sol D'Or is right on the edge of La Pineda, on the Cap Salou side. Busses on the opposite side of the road go into Tarragona and Reus, both worth a visit and only 10-15 minutes away. The Plana tour busses to Barcelona also depart from across the road. Look for Plana Reps, handing out timetables and guides. On the hotel side, the bus goes to Cap Salou/ Salou, Port Aventura and Cambrils. To travel further inland, it's probably easier to go into Tarragona bus station and pick up a greater choice there. Salou train station is a 15 minute bus ride followed by a short walk. La Pineda has one of the best beaches in the area and a good tourist info office about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel.
