It depends a lot on when you're going to Salalah. If you are there for the Kareef (rainy season) simply going anywhere along the coast is beautiful. The hills are green and waterfalls are full. But if you visit any other timeof year, the city is boring and unattractive. There are several religious sites that are a day trip away.
