Location of The Four Seasons St. Louis: A Bit Out of the Way?

by flyer1955 Online Now Jan 14, 2010 at 5:53 PM

I have never been to St. Louis before and can use some help. I'm going to be in St. Louis for a concert series at Powell Symphony Hall. (I won't have a car.) I'm booked at the Four Season's. I gather that it is one of the nicest hotels in town, and I'm thrilled to be able to stay there, I'm just a little concerned about the location. How convenient is it to the concert hall, shops, public transport...? The casino next door is not of interest at all.

I wouldn't mind cabs at night but would like to have access to public transport during the day so that I can get to other areas and in from the airport.

If there is another luxury property that I should be looking at? I'd appreciate any feedback.

There is a Metrolink station near the hotel which you can use to leave downtown and to go to and from the airport. You will absolutely want to take a cab (or hotel car service) to/from Powell.

The Landing, the area where the hotel is located, is quite a party area, but is trying to become more upscale with the fancy new casinos (and the Four Seasons, obviously).

Depending on what your interests are outside of the concert, you may want to consider the Chase Park Plaza in the Central West End. About the same distance from Powell, just in the opposite direction, and right across the street from Forest Park - plus walking distance to some great, non-touristy restaurants and nightlife.
