Is there any plant, animal, insect that inhabits ST. John that would effect the central nervous system, with symptoms of vertigo and visual migraines?

There are mosquito bourne illnesses such as dengue, there are illnesses related to local fish, sorry the name escapes me. The symptoms of these are digestive tract issues. There are jellyfish and plants that cause skin irritations. There is even a plant that can cause a severe burn on St. John. None of these will cause the nervous system issues you describe.

After a bit of google research I found that the fish bourne disease I was looking for can cause neurological symptoms. The disease is CIGUATERA. Here is a link to a Wiki site that describes the symptoms and possible cause.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciguat...

It can be caugh by eating reef fish from tropical waters and also by eating the predatory fish that eat these reef fish. Symptoms include severe headaches.

Hey vanderlust, these are not legitimate....and Lyc70 has been posting the same url on many threads, leading to the same lame Google basketball site. There was a reason for my otherwise rude reply....d;o)

When someone is removed from VT their posts are removed also. When they are the Original Poster in a thread, that thread is removed completely. This thread is still here so the OP must still be here.
