This is the holy week so expect, not only higher rates, but scarcity of bus seats as well. I would suggest securing your seat the soonest although this is not possible (I think) on the Baguio-Sagada leg as seats are on a first come, first serve basis.

As regard safety, I did this trip on my own as well and didn't encounter any issues.

Sagada has many guest houses and i am sure that you will find something. As you know most locals stay home at Easter, visit the church etc..and not so many take a trip for a few days. I would not be concerned about your safety as i have been there several times over the last twenty years and the people are friendly in Sagada. Don't mess with drugs.

I took this trip in 4nights/3days so it's a bit cramped. Since you'll have a week, i would suggest:

March 23 (evening) - Manila-Banaue March 24-25 - Banaue/Batad March 26 - travel to Sagada via Bontoc March 27-29 - Sagada (they may not have trips on March 29 to Baguio as this is Good Friday so might as well stay in Sagada) March 30 - travel to Baguio March 31 - Baguio April 1 - travel to Manila

    Hope the above helps.

Hi,there DI|Y, the rates does not go up during those times but, the problem is the booking of lodging.. but since you will arrive in Sagada early, you can find a lodging as a walk in... there are some lodgings in Sagada that does not accept advanced booking and prefer walk in.
