Are Makaloff Diggins, South Yuba State Park and the Bidwell Mansion still open for visitors? If so what days of the week are they open? The web sites are unclear.
Makaloff Diggins and South Yuba State Park are open every day of the week. However the visitor center in South Yuba is only open Thursday to Sunday I believe. Be sure and stop by and see the historic town of North Bloomfield while in Makaloff. The covered bridge in South Yuba State Park is also worth taking a look at. Not sure about the Bidwell Park in Chico.

Agree with the Bridgeport Covered Bridge in South Yuba State Park; very interesting to take a look (flickr.com/photos/vtveen/673.... Don't know when you intend to visit, but nearby the visitor center is the Buttermilk Bend wildflower trail (March through May). happy travels Jaap
