    • Munich in March - Strongbeer Festival

      Munich Feb 22, 2015 at 10:45 AM

My husband and I are traveling to Munich to land in the early morning on March 22. Our plan is to start off taking the train from Munich to Salzburg and do some sightseeing for the day then head off to ski the alps for a couple of days and return on Thursday to enjoy the Strongbeer festival to end our trip. Any suggestions on how we planned our trip? We figured the weekend would be best for enjoying the Strongbeer festival. Should there be any reservations made for tables at the different beer halls as they might get busy? Where do we find a list of interesting things going on during it? For example: strongman competition.

We are open to any and all suggestions!

We had seen that Koblenz was just up the river and wondered if it would be a worthwhile trip to go up there, getting on and off the train along the way at any places that are interesting. Or would there be a more exciting/interesting trip to see/tour castles going from Mainz via train in another direction? Thanks!

      Question about Zugspitze roundtrip option

      Garmisch-Partenkirchen Feb 22, 2015 at 11:49 AM

      Hi,
We will arrive to Eibsee by car and from there would like to take a cable car (Eibsee Seilbahn) up to the top straight away.
Then, after spending some time at the summit, we will get down to the Zugspitzplat (by Gletscherbahn) for some lunch
The question is - can we go backwards to Eibsee exactly vice versa?

I mean the following route: Eibsee --> Zugspitze Summit --> Zugspitzplat --> Zugspitze Summit --> Eibsee (all by cable cars).

Or our only option is a train only ? We are going with a little daughter, prefer not to boil her in a train full of tourists.

The second question - Can we buy the tickets directly at Eibsee station or we have to visit Garmisch for a tickets ?

      Thanks!

I'll be travelling by train from Bruxelles to Saarbrucken and from Saarbrucken to Paris and I want to know whether there is access for wheelchairs in order to get into the train station and the train itself. Bear in mind it is a power wheelchair, for what everything must be free-steps.
I need to know if those train stations are wheelchair friendly and also if every train which does that journey or just some of them in specific times of the day are. In case not all of them have access, please let me know.
Moreover, i would be glad if you could let me know if inside the train, every class is accesible, and if once there i have to request any special attention or instead the accesses are visible to the naked eye.
      Thank you, Gabriela

      Airport hotel Franfurt-Hahn

      Hahn Dec 16, 2008 at 11:22 AM

I have been to Hahn airport, and seen an add, witch says:Room for two person 29e/night.I wrote it at paper, and name of the hotel, but I lost the paper.I also heard one woman telling, that she had stayed at that hotel, and it really was that cheap. And they had a car picking up from airport and taking back in the morning(they had a flight with Ryanair),but she had also forgotten the name of the hotel. They had even got a car to take them to dinner somewhere from the hotel.I don´t know how much they paid extra-or was it at the price.
After two years:Does someone know,is that hotel still there, and do they have a web-page?Even if the price would have rised a little.

Help With Holiday Accomodation In Kirrberg (D-66424), Homberg

      Kirrberg Aug 21, 2007 at 11:07 AM

      Hi there

I am going to visit my pen friend for the 3rd time, however, he stays in.... D-66424, Homberg, Kirrberg. I am going to his home town for the first time, and I'm looking for a hotel, appartment or guest house (cheaply priced) for 7 nights stay.

I have searched the internet but cannot find anything at all, and practically nothing in English. Can anyone help me here ?? I want to get booked up soon.

I can't stay with him, as he's in a country apartment riddled with spiders etc, and insects freak me out, so I have no choice but look for accomodation. My planned trip is in December 3rd-10th. He stays on the Collingstrasse, if that's of any help, and he can drive also.

Hoping someone can help me, thanks :)

      Meg, Scotland.

      Hi everybody!=))
I`m going to Saarbruecken, beginning August for my internship. I`ll live in Saarbruecken-Scheidt, actually, and the problem is I don`t know (as do not know the people who have organized the living=)) where exactly I`m actually going to stay=))). I mean, I looked through some internet pages, found on Google maps the street (that`s already good=)))!), but no Wohnheim or anything og the kind in der Naehe=) and I`m sure it`s no private apartment. Well, it`s Keiserstrasse 233, 66133 Saarbruecken-Scheidt. Does anybody know what can be there? The closest thing from there - the Saarbriuecken university.
Second problem, how much do you think it`s going to cost me if I buy a ticket for the bus (or anything that goes from there till Alte Saarbruecken) for one month?
      Thanx in advance!
