I'll be travelling by train from Bruxelles to Saarbrucken and from Saarbrucken to Paris and I want to know whether there is access for wheelchairs in order to get into the train station and the train itself. Bear in mind it is a power wheelchair, for what everything must be free-steps. I need to know if those train stations are wheelchair friendly and also if every train which does that journey or just some of them in specific times of the day are. In case not all of them have access, please let me know. Moreover, i would be glad if you could let me know if inside the train, every class is accesible, and if once there i have to request any special attention or instead the accesses are visible to the naked eye. Thank you, Gabriela
Does anyone now how can I travel from Saarbruecken to Brussels? Are there any regional trains or special combinations to get there? Thanks in advance
I will be in Saarland in the summer of 2012 visiting some towns from which my wife's ancestors originated. Is there somebody I can hire as a guide and translator. I speak a little German but my primary language is English. Feel free to contact me at: gwdavis44@comcast.net - Gary Davis
Is saarbrucken considered a border city for the France railpass, as Salzburg & Kufstein are? If not, is thers an inexpensive way to get in to a french station (i e Forbach) each day to use a france pass? Does Forbach have a ticket office? thankyou
My ancestor (Hans Gander) came from around Jagersburg; specifically from an area once known as Hans Weiler in the late 1600s-early 1700s. I am trying to plan a visit to the area in the next year or two and would like to stay in Jagersburg for a few nights. Are there any places to stay in Jagersburg? I've only found hotels/guest houses in Homburg. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for your time!! -Steve
I have been to Hahn airport, and seen an add, witch says:Room for two person 29e/night.I wrote it at paper, and name of the hotel, but I lost the paper.I also heard one woman telling, that she had stayed at that hotel, and it really was that cheap. And they had a car picking up from airport and taking back in the morning(they had a flight with Ryanair),but she had also forgotten the name of the hotel. They had even got a car to take them to dinner somewhere from the hotel.I don´t know how much they paid extra-or was it at the price. After two years:Does someone know,is that hotel still there, and do they have a web-page?Even if the price would have rised a little.
I would like to visit my ancestors' home which is listed on a US census document as Badenbach. I have found only two references to Badenbach on the entire worldwide web and cannot locate it on any German map. But Bardenbach is a close match. Does anyone know if these are one and the same? Another census shows Trier as the hometown. Is Bardenbach part of the Trier region? Thanks for your help.
Hi there I am going to visit my pen friend for the 3rd time, however, he stays in.... D-66424, Homberg, Kirrberg. I am going to his home town for the first time, and I'm looking for a hotel, appartment or guest house (cheaply priced) for 7 nights stay. I have searched the internet but cannot find anything at all, and practically nothing in English. Can anyone help me here ?? I want to get booked up soon. I can't stay with him, as he's in a country apartment riddled with spiders etc, and insects freak me out, so I have no choice but look for accomodation. My planned trip is in December 3rd-10th. He stays on the Collingstrasse, if that's of any help, and he can drive also. Hoping someone can help me, thanks :) Meg, Scotland.
Can you please tell me the distance between the Saarbrucken Airport and the train station where I would catch the train to Paris? Also, do you know if there is public transportation between the two? Thank you.
My G-G-Grandfather was Christian Conrad Kuntz born Nov. 1813 in Ottweiler. I plan to visit Ottweiler again soon, I was there in 1980 once. I saw in the phone book that there are some Kuntz's still in ottweiler I would like to know if any are from my Kuntz line, & see if they would like to meet me. My e-mail is eisweinbill@hotmail.com. thank's Bill
I am 52 years old and traveling to Germany for the first time. My grandparents were both born & raised in Germany and my grandfather was from Saarbrucken. I want to spend some time in the town and am looking for suggestions as to how to best get a sense of the town's history as well as how the locals live now. Also, I am assuming that most public records were destroyed during the war, but if anyone has information about how to trace my family tree while I am there that would be appreciated as well. thank you.
I intend to be staying in Saarbrücken (Rastpfuhl near Lebacher straße ) to for between 2-3 weeks starting on the 28th of Decemeber 2006. I’m looking for very cheap accommodation that can be booked each day instead of doing so in advance. That’s because I have a friend there who might be able to put me up some nights. I’m just looking for a basic room that has a bed and shower and no more. Any help would be appreciated, Robert
Hi everybody!=)) I`m going to Saarbruecken, beginning August for my internship. I`ll live in Saarbruecken-Scheidt, actually, and the problem is I don`t know (as do not know the people who have organized the living=)) where exactly I`m actually going to stay=))). I mean, I looked through some internet pages, found on Google maps the street (that`s already good=)))!), but no Wohnheim or anything og the kind in der Naehe=) and I`m sure it`s no private apartment. Well, it`s Keiserstrasse 233, 66133 Saarbruecken-Scheidt. Does anybody know what can be there? The closest thing from there - the Saarbriuecken university. Second problem, how much do you think it`s going to cost me if I buy a ticket for the bus (or anything that goes from there till Alte Saarbruecken) for one month? Thanx in advance!
