Hi there,
I am traveling to Croatia for a festival in Rovinj this summer and after having visited Croatia over the last two summers and not seen anything out side the festivals I am keen to make sure I make the most of my trip this time.
Is anyone able to advice on which are the best national parks to visit, as well which ones might be closest to Rovinj?
Thanks a bunch!! :)
Risnjak above Rijeka is closest and most accessible from Rovinj. It's good for hiking.
Plitvice are better as a landmark but try to find an organized excursion from Rovinj.

Hi,
Rovinj have only protected Forrest park - Zlatni rt (or Golden Cape) with the best beaches, nice walking and bike roads...
The closest national Park are Brijuni island, 30km distante from Rovinj.
One of the most visited national park in Croatia are Plitvice Lakes... There are some excursions from Rovinj to Plitvice lakes. i don`t know the rates but if you are intersted you can send inquiry to some tourist agency like: http://www.nautilus-rovinj.com/

Hi,
go to Brijuni NP. If you do not have a car, reaching Risnjak could be a problem.

If you go along the sea shore with the sea on your right leaving the town on your left and behind, you will soon reach hotels Eden (if my memory doesn't fail me). Go further past it, and there you are - lovely park/forest. Don't remember if it has any name, though
Remeber to have swimming shoes on if you go bathing, the stones are huge!
