We will visit Lappland in September (and are really looking forward to it, too!). We have rented a lovely cottage in the Ranua area some 80 km south of Rovaniemi. We will fly to Rovaniemi on a Saturday, arriving there around 6 p.m. Then wait for our luggage, pick up a car, so we should be set to start our vacation roundabout 6.30 p.m. Now my question: are there any supermarkets in or around Rovaniemi that are open late on Saturday evening or anytime on Sunday? Any help is much appreciated!
By googling 'supermarkets rovaniemi' this came up at the top of the list: finlandforum.org/viewtopic.p... There are also further links if you google.

Just to let you know from someone who’s been there and know how things works in Finland. After you get your car and drive to Ranua you do not need to look for supermarket but for gas station, there always will be one somewhere on your way that open very late or 24h. You can get at list your supply for the first day and on Sunday supermarkets are open in Finland from 12:00 and in Ranua center (bus station) there is one and you can easy do most of the groceries shopping there during your stay. I'm sure you did your homework regarding some day trips near Ranua and what to see but anyhow, here is a link to some interesting nature sites: outdoors.fi/destinations/Sea... and maybe this one (one of my favourite) outdoors.fi/destinations/nat...
