In summer, many shops (especially connected with food) will be open in the morning. Do not worry, this is not the desert on sundays and mondays, especially in the tourist season! You will find plenty to do!

Roquebrunne is a quiet some might say sleepy little place - the peninsula of Cap Martin is mainly very expensive villas many of which are empty most of the time apart from a gardien and security minders. Its also handy for those who work in Monaco as its a stop down the line. From its station there you can easily pick up the train into Nice, which is where you have the largest choice of things to see and do.All the bigger towns like Monaco Nice Antibes and Cannes are lively on Sundays though many of the non-tourist shops shut, definitely after 12.30pm. Theres usually a SPAR or Huit a Huit open.

It really depends whether you have in mind a beach day or a city exploration. Your closest town after Monaco is Menton, which is well worth a day - interesting old town and fabulous botanical gardens like Val Rameh.

Mondays a normal business day but a few places that open Sundays take Monday off instead. Always worth checking through the hotel. You won't really need the car unless you are venturing into the back country.
