Heading back to Rome and staying at Hotel Canada again on Via Marghera 58 . We were wondering if anyone had restaurant recommendations in that area. Nothing fancy just some authentic Italian home cooking Thanks Bill
It is not in that area but we truly enjoyed our meal in Ristorante Antica Taverna in Via Monte Giordano 12. It is across the river in the neighbor in front of Castel Sant'Angelo. They had a simple menu with basic but authentic Roman dishes. We went there in 2010 and had lunch for about 25 Euros for 2 people. you can read more about it here Ristorante Antica Taverna: "A taste of Roma's traditional cooking" - Rome Restaurant Tip by oriettaIT Happy travel

you are welcome, let's us hope they did not changed much in the past two years :-) I checked recent reviews online and it seem to be the same. Happy travel

There's a nice little trattoria on the Via Cavour (about 15 minutes walk from Termini) called Trattoria Di Valentino. It's nothing special decoratively, but the food is great, and well priced. Coming from Termini, it is on your left hand side.

There's a nice non-touristy trattoria etc on Via Milazza, right by Termini station: Antica Taverna: "Good basic food" - Antica Taverna Tip by leics and another, slightly swisher, one just around the corner from there on Via Varese: Meid in Nepols: "Used by locals, good value" - Rome Restaurant Tip by leics Both are very near your hotel.
