Where can I find a map of the hop-on locations for the sight seeing Cristiana Bus service? Is this a reliable bus service? Is there a better bus service?
There are a number of hop-on, hop-off bus services in Rome, including 2 run by the City. The Roma Cristiana Open Bus is understandably focused on Christian Rome. The bus's stops can be found at omniavaticanrome.org/en/the-... A graphic map can be found at romeguide.it/romacristiana/r... I have not used this or any other such bus service, but I see that it is advertised on the Terravision website terravision.eu/orpnet_city_t... which, since Terravision is a well-known bus company in Europe, should tell you a lot about its reliability. I would think that the question you should ask yourself is what sort of focus do you want: ancient Rome? Christian Rome? Catacombs? There are different bus services for each...not to mention even the Segway tours ;-) Bill

The majority of the tour buses can be picked up at the popular places of intrest and also the train station or there abouts. Usually when you get on your tour bus, you will be given a map of Rome with all the places of interest and bus stops on. Enjoy! Hayley :)

The hop-on buses in Rome are well-established (and long-established in most cases) and I see no reason why they should not be reliable. But you should be aware that, depending on when you visit and what buses you want to catch, they may be crowded or even full. Rome has an excellent public transport system of buses, trams and Metro. You may decide that a 3-day travel pass for all these methods of transport (and including the commuter train out to Ostia Antica) is better value at 11 euro than paying the hop-on fares for just 24 hours. It's easiest to buy these passes at the newsagents booths in the bus station which adjoins Termini railway station (where you will probably arrive in Rome, unless you take a taxi or hotel shuttle from either airport).

We really enjoyed the city Archeobus. It's a hop-on hop-off although you can stay on and make a tour of it. We discovered a lot of folks do the complete loop and then go around again and get off at a spot they've decided on and start hopping on and off from there. trambusopen.com/en/archeobus... The 110 bus is another city bus that is great for tourists. Since they're run by the city, they are reliable. All of them can be gotten at Termini station. rome.info/transportation/tic... Enjoy Rome.
