I understand there is a new terminal and it is #-5- Just wondering if anyone has flown Delta to the USA recently and if that is correct and I hope most drivers know where it is. I guess we check in here and then take a shuttle to the gate area- Any info is appreciated--Bags I guess would be checked in at this new terminal etc Happy Easter to all and thanks-Gene
Don't worry...taxi drivers (and other drivers) will know exactly where T5 is and how to get there. If you look at the airport website you will see that Delta airlines do indeed use T5: http://www.adr.it/fiumicino You can download a map of T5 here: adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma... I'm not sure what you mean about a 'shuttle' but yes, there is ordinary check-in at T5 and then how you get to the gate will be clearly signed.

taxi do not go to T5 you've to go to T3 (but also T1 - T2 or train) and then walk inside the airport from T3 there is shuttle taking you to T5 T5 is used for all flightS to US and Israel.

Thanks Leics as that was helpful as usual- I ready where to be sure that the taxi driver knows where we are going and then cgf said taxi,s don,e go there so I will be certain. With luggage there has to be a way to get a carriage and get to the Deltal terminal so the taxi sounds like the right way.Gene

Well, even if taxis *do* only go to T3 for the shuttle to T5 I'm certain the taxi driver will know exactly what to do. So worry not: it will be fine. Enjoy Rome ..it's a magnificent city! :-)

the new terminal has already almost four years... anyway area G (where to make check-in and it's not T5 itself) is also reachable by taxy, but, as far I remember, there is VAT refound office but [there were] no dutyfree shops. there are so many people going from Rome to US with US airlines... where's the problem? just be to airport with enough time, the main reason of T5 it's because there are more checks & controls.
