Rome to the Amalfi Coast

by Skatermom Online Now Jul 5, 2007 at 12:30 PM

We will be in Rome for 8 nights and planning to go to Naples for 3 of those nights. My question is if we also wanted to go to the Amalfi coast is it easier to go from Naples or from Rome. Also, where is there more to do Naples or the Amalfi Coast. Thank you for any suggestions. We are going from Oct 7th to the 14th.

Hello, The Amalfi coast is much closer to Naples. As for things to do, it depends on what you are looking for. While in Naples, make sure you see Pompeii and Herculaneum. You should read the travel guides here at VT for more suggestions. Donna

Yes, Naples is closer...a lot closer. Re what to see and do....definitely don't miss the National Museum in Naples.....that will be my first stop next time to Italy. Carole.
