Cheap and cheerful (and quiet) Accomodation near central rome?

by Karctic Online Now Mar 26, 2013 at 1:01 PM

Hi all... I'm back on VT after some months absent and now on the brink of starting 11m of travel! YAY!
In a week I will be in Rome!! I want to arrange at least 2 nights accomodation to ensure good sleep and rest post flights from Australia...maybe hostels but they can be noisy! Any suggestions for me? I was also looking at Air B&B..seemed a good source too... any recommemdations? Budget is important too. Im backpacking for a long time :-)
I will be heading down to Siena on the 9th.
Many thx in advance!!

If you have used airbnb before , always look for location. They are my source when traveling alone, and by far can be the cheapest in accommodations. Be sure to book several weeks ahead and communicate your arrival.

There's a hotel I stayed in that will be in my Italy pages that is right next to the main station (but not noisy), reasonably priced and secure. Would have to recommend that. (accommodation has two m's by the way, he said pedantically). Cheers, Ian

Found this on Air bnb, very good reviews , host and location.....(Luca’s B&B: 3+1 Bed, Old Rome, WiFi ) after looking on the reviews, I am a airbnb host and hope one day I can do the same.

    cheers tommy x

From what I researched ,the cheap accommodation are YMCA and the economic ones are near the termini,Rome train station. Look for B&B opposite to the termini, the charges are around euro 30 per day for one person and about 40 for 2 people.
