The role of public Participation

Hi, im glady to be a membership in this site. I need to know the role of public participation in the designation of World Heritage(ie in Roros). As I expect to be there in early october to visit a site.

    Not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if Roros, being a World Heritage site, will mean that it will be crowded when you visit in early October?

    I am not sure what you want to know either. As far as your participation, you simply enjoy it. If you want to know how these sites are chosen, you might enjoy reading the UNESCO explanation of how they make their choices. "UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee is the decision-making body of the Convention. Individual countries bring their nominations to the Committee which makes its selections based on specific selection criteria:" You can see the criteria at unesco.ca/en/activity/cultur...
