We are embarking on a trip cross country via Amtrak in 3 days. I just now started looking up the parking situation at the Rochester, NY, Amtrak Station. It doesn't look too good. Long-term parking is free, but in 2008 people said not to park a car there over a weekend. We'll be gone 2 weeks! What alternatives do we have? Could we park long term at the airport and take a cab over?? Help!
does anyone know if there a website or somewhere I can locate bus trips to NYC. I am talking about people who just charter a bus on their own and only charge around $50 or so. Even a bus trip is too exepnsive for me and 2 children.
what is thhe next bus to rochester, ny airport from downtown rochester after 7:30am
I'm planning to go to Rochester for the Lilac festival in May. Any tips? Will it be super busy? I have a toddler who sits in a stroller but will want to do some walking as well. If we go on a weekend, will there be fun things to do?
I will be visiting Rochester shortly. I'm looking for weekend package tour to Niagara falls (US Side). Appreciate if someone can share any URL (Bus Package Tour) from Rochester to Niagara Falls.
I am going to be visiting Rochester University with my son. Is this a safe area? I would like to stay at the Strathallan Hotel on East Avenue. How is the neighborhood-both day and night? No one at the University seems to answer our questions about safety.
I was wondering if anybody knows if there is overnight parking in downtown Rochester. We are taking the Greyhound bus to New York City, and it leaves at 4:15 am. We would like to park our car somewhere safe downtown for two nights. Does anyone know if there is a safe place we can park our car around the Greyhound bus station?
Is there any long term parking near the Amtrak station? We would need to leave our car for 10 days while we travel by train.
Greetings to all in Rochester.
I'm across the lake in Prince Edward County Ontario.
Is there somewhere I can find the dates for Kodak implosions?

I'm in Rochester later this month and I want to spend a day at Niagara Falls. Apart from travelling by Greyhound Bus can anyone offer any alternative travel advice. The Amtrak doesn't really offer any suitable times and I'd rather not have to hire a car if possible. Does anyone know if any tour companies offer day trips?
Any help will be gratefully received.

I'm going to stay in Rochester for holiday with my cousin, we also want to see the niagra falls and stay there for about 2 days, I can't get to know how I can go to the niagra falls from Rochester - as cheap as possible :-)
maybe somebody here can help me,
Later this month I have a morning free and I am looking for a way to get from the airport in Rochester to Niagra Falls for a quick look and back to the airport by around noon. I am looking for any suggestions, a short guided tour, taxi, rent a car? What is my best option. I'll only have 3-4 hours to take a quick look and be back in time to catch my flight home.
Next month I plan on going to Rochester from NYC. While there I plan to see Letchworth Park and Erie Canal. Does anyone know of a hotel in Rochester that has a tour desk to take one to these other places? If not is there a tour agency in Rochester that takes you to the other places mentioned? You see if there is then I would just take the plane up there, however, if there isn't then I would try to drive up there. The drive is like 5-7hours I understand and I have never driven for this long. Is there any rest stop or interesting town along the way that anyone can recommend so that I can rest up for the other half of the drive? How is the weather there in early to midst September? Would the waters be too cold to do white water rafting in Letchworth park? Would it be to windy for ballooning? Is there a cruise that goes into Letchworth Park? How is traffic up there, is it as bad as NY? Can one find parking easy? Would the laser light shows still continue past Labor Day? Are there cruises in Erie after Labor day? I know this is a lot but your response is greatly appreciated.
We will be travelling on the Spirit of Ontario to Rochester as a great excuse to visit the Finger Lakes area. Any recommendations for accomodations, great restaurants, wineries, hiking trails? We have 3 days .
So, it looks like we finally have a ferry contecting Rochester with Toronto. However I couldn't find the name of the boat. Does anyone have any ideas on what we should call this ship? My idea is "The Loyalist."
Rumor has it this bus will travel from Rochester, NY to NYC leaving from the Monroe Ave area downtown and costing only like45-50 round trip! Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!
