      Bangladeshi Passport. Ukraine Transit.

      Kiev Apr 17, 2014 at 3:25 AM

Hi I am a Bangladeshi Passport holder, resident in United Kingdom with long term work permit. I will be travelling from Istanbul to London via Kiev on 21 April 2014. I had a 2 hour stop-over which has now become 9 Hours in Boryspil International Airport due a to a flight change by UIA. From 11 AM to 8 PM. I would not like to sit in the airport for that long rather go out and see the beautiful city.
      Q. What are the chances of me getting a Transit visa at the airport for the day upon arrival? What would be the procedure?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

9 hours in Kiev. Safe to travel?

      Kiev Apr 2, 2014 at 5:09 PM

Me and my wife are traveling from London to Istanbul via Kiev with UIA on 18th April and returning on 21st April 2014. We booked the trip before any protests started in Kiev.
Now, due to a change in flights by the airlines, we have a 9 hour stop over in Kiev on our way back. Is it now safe to spend a few hours sightseeing in Kiev? If yes, what can we do / see in few hours?

I have already looked at apartments or houses to rent for about 10-14 days, but I wanted to know about any possible riotings or safety concerns that I may have in the region. Are there any to be aware of?

      Travel conditions in Odessa, Ukraine?

      Odessa Mar 24, 2014 at 6:56 AM

If any Odessa locals would be kind enough to inform what conditions are like for travel in Odessa at the moment? I have arranged a trip there from some time ago, & I am due to arrive there April 16th for one week stay.
I have heard / read mixed reports elsewhere. I read about protests / demonstrations turning violent earlier this month and state offices / parliament being attacked. Some people say Russian military is spreading in southern Ukraine and nearing Odessa, and things getting close to war. Other people say that in Odessa life continues as normal and is ok to travel.
I was considering whether to postpone my trip, so any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    • Safe travel?

      Kiev Apr 2, 2014 at 7:57 AM

Given the current situation in Ukraine, is it safe to travel there? I know the situation in Ukraine has calmed down considerably, but there are still some levels of unrest, especially in Crimea and in the East. I will be coming from the US to visit my fiance in Kiev in June.

    • Need current advice on travelling to Crimea

      Ukraine Mar 30, 2014 at 4:28 PM

      Hello,

I am from the UK and I have a girlfriend in Simferopol. After waiting for many months, I finally have an opportunity to go and visit her but then there is the trouble there!

She assures me she sees Westerners in the street: cafes, restaurants, etc., that they are without fear and that there is no aggression towards them. She insists it is safe for me to go there but she could be optimitstic as she wants to see me.

I need advice from people from English speaking countries who have been there recently. Have they had any trouble? Do they agree it is safe? Will I have an advantage being 'protected' by a local?

I would go there in the middle of April '14. i would need to travel via Moscow. What would be the visa situation now? I do not need a visa for Ukraine.

Is there any public transportation from Rivne to Klevan? We don't drive, just wondered if they have rail service or bus service or do we need to rely upon taxi service (how far is it from Rivne anyhow?). We want to spend a few hours during the day in Klevan, and return to Rivne.

      Rivne area

by zoommedix Online Now May 9, 2010 at 10:55 PM

Ok so I'd like to explore the Rivne area, i chickened out last time i was in europe and have been doing some work on it and have found the trains to get into ukraine from the west take a huge amount of time. Anyone who lives or has been into Lviv would you shy away from flying into lviv and renting a car? The area i really want to get into is about 50km north of Rivne as this is where my family came from after leaving Germany. I have been in europe twice and have driven there with no problems but i have not had a car in the east.

I have been in Hungary, Czech republic, Poland and Slovakia with little problems but Ukraine causes me stress. Suggestions??

      Brent
