We are planning to visit Tirupati during 3rd week of May. We got to know that the Vishnu Padam guest house at Tirumala is a convenient place to stay. So far I know those coming to Port Blair airport by a flight receives permit (for non-Indians) after arrival to P. Blair but what about the travelers coming at harbour by ship ? Can it be issued there at harbour or from Kolkata shipping office or at very beginning during visa process ?

We would like to do the Golden Triangle from Delhi. We arrive in Delhi late on Wednesday 16 October 2013 and leave Delhi on Tuesday 22nd October at 15.20. does someone know about the social situation in Rishikesh. Is it crowd? Is there a high crimal rate? Is it more or less clean? Is there spreading a lot of diseases? Are the locals nice or nasty? Are there lots of druged hippies? Is there a lot of "religious frauds" like devotie fishing gooing on?
Hi! I plan to visit Rishikesh during Easter this year - approx. 23-29th March. I'm looking for up to date advice on which hotels to stay at, where to eat and what to see and do. Yoga stuff and meditation are on the to do list as well as maybe hiking in the Himalayas a day or two. The hotel should be clean and with WiFi/LAN. All tips and information are appreciated! Thank you for all the replies about the way to Rishikesh. We decided to take a taxi (an a/c SUV). We found a very good site www.starlim.co.in - They can also make train booking (US$10 fees), but they accept paypal that makes the transition easy and safety. We are now plannig our way back to Delhi - We want to be there only for a day, and we wanna a good tip : to take one of the "day tours" or to go specifically to one place like Humayn's Tomb, Akshardham or any other site?? The 2nd thing we will arrive to Delhi at 6th of april and will need a hotel (our fligth will be at 8th in early mornig). It's better to take a near airport hotel??? Hi there I'm travelling to India in December and we want to get from Rishikesh to Varanasie, does anyone know if there is a day or overnight train we can get or a bus and not have to return to Delhi first to get to Varanasie? Hi there... My question is regarding studying yoga in rishikesh or somewhere else in north india that you might recommend. I'm arriving in new delhi around the 22nd of september with my husband and we're planning on spending a couple of months traveling in the north. I would like to spend about 4 weeks doing a teacher training course in an ashram...have noticed that there are many so can anyone recommend one from their experience? Also what sort of money am i looking at spending? I have heard that most include accomodation, food, and sometimes they have cooking classes... Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! so we've planned a trip during the second week of june. Let me tell about my plan. I'll be leaving on a friday from Pune (which is where I live) and come to delhi. The problem is that ill be reachin Delhi in the evening and from there we'll be catching a bus to hrishikesh if avaiable (suggesstion required). We'll be reachin hrishikesh most probably late in the night, may be after 1 or 2am...can i get accomodation at that time and if yes, please tell me about the charges and what els i need to sure of as it is our first time to the north
