Is any of you know when is the earliest train schedule from Riomaggiore? I wonder if it is possible that i can take the train at 08:07 from La Spezia
Checking the Italian Trenitalia site I cannot find a train, even with transfer from, Milan to Manarola in Cinque Terre or even to Levante. Must I go the other way first through La Spezia or this there a train I can take with a transfer?
Need your help. Thanks.
I am traveling to the Cinque Terre region in Italy next month. Looking for best driving route. Will either be coming up from Rome or Florence. Also looking for best spots to photograph in this area.

Hi, We are spending six days in Cinque Terre in middle September. We might get accomodation in Riomaggiore but have thought of staying in La Spezia. Anybody who knows if it is convenient to catch the local train every day from La Spezia, hike between two of the villages and then catch the train back to La Spezia?
What is the return ferry fare and how frequent are the ferries? Thankyou!
How was it not in Riomaggiore, I know you have a big storm. Give me news. I write also for Alberto who works in Café Centrale in Riomaggiore. I was there this summer with my daughter, it is a fantastic place. Danielle from Canada Québec
Hello....can someone update me on the status of the effect of the landslides in the Cinque Terre region. I've read that the entire hike through the 5 villages is closed indefinitely. Is this true? Thank you!
Thre is description of the second Riomaggiore beach at www.lecinqueterre.org/eng/bagni/bagnirio.php: "Another fabulous beach, unreachable by land due to the unsafe path, now very dangerous, is the beach of Canneto, between Punta Castagna e Punta del Cavo. You can reach it only by sea and it has a natural cascade descending from the hills as a natural shower." Is it really no way to the beach from the road? And can I hire the boat or rent the cayak to reach the Canneto beach by sea?
Hello everyone We will be staying at Riomaggiore in October and want to walk the trails between the towns. Can we buy the tickets in advance or are we able to buy them when we get there if so does anyone know where? Many thanks
Hi all, I'm staying in Corniglia this summer. I read it is the sleepy town in the Cinque Terre, so I will probably want to stay out kinda late in other towns. Is is possible to take the train late at night or early in the morning?
I need to plan a 3 day trip to cinque terre for a group of 8. Should we stay in one place or move between cities? What are some suggestions to stay, and things to do for an group of 35-70? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
Hi, We are looking at staying in an apartment at the top of Riomaggiore with our toddler (will be 21months). How do you recommend we get around with her? Is there an 'easier' way to get up and down the hills. I am guessing that a stroller is out of the question, especially if we want to do any of the walks. Would a baby backpack carrier be the best option? All advice appreciated, especially if you have been to the Cinque Terre with a toddler.
Hi Does anyone know if you need the Cinque Terre card to do the short walk between Manarola and Riomaggiore. Understand some there is no charge for some sections of the walk. Thank you.
Hiya....now I am onto the next stage of our trip and wanting to get a train from Riomaggiore to Bern. I have looked at the RailEurope site but struggling to work out the best way to go...ie via Genova or La Spezia. We would like to get a fairly early start...say 8 or 9am...has anyone got any advice for us. Thanks so much Judi
Hiya I am looking for accommodation for 3 adults...in Riomaggiore...preferably very central...would like to live the local life for 3 nights in February. Any suggestions appreciated. Can I take a boat from Riomaggiore to Monterosso to see the vilages from the sea? If yes, what is the scadule times during the day?
Hello everybody, My wife and I are planning to spend one night in Cinque Terre (probably in Riomaggiore) in September. Our friends say that we won't be able to find a night's lodging or a good restaurant there if we don't book well in advance. Could anybody confirm or deny that? Our problem is that we are not sure about the day of our arrival, since we want to keep the possibility of changing our itinerary at a whim. Thanks!
I need a recommendation for 2 rooms (4 adult couples) in the Cinque Terre. We will be there in June for the weekend this year. We will arrive by train from Florence. Any of the towns will do. Just interested in seeing the views and relaxing. We will also need an email to make reservations. Thanks.
Does anyone know an email address for the hotel La Bia di Rio? I would like to make reservations for this June and do not know how to get in touch. Any information would be helpfull. Thanks
My husband and I with two friends, all in our early 60's, are planning to visit the CT in October, 2010. Although we are all pretty active, my husband had a knee replacement a year ago. Should we stick to visiting the villages by train or boat or are any of the trails between any of the villages a short distance from one another? Strenuous walking can aggravate his knee and I don't want him to overwork his leg, although we want to see as many villages as we can. Also, does anyone know of any inexpensive hotels in the center of the villages that don't have long stairs to their entries? We aren't exactly sure where to stay because we are only planning to stay one night. Since we will travel from Firenze, does anyone have any advice about where it is best for us to stay? Thanks,
I will be staying at a B&B in Riomaggiore for 2 days and want some info about the big parking garage I have heard about. I will be arriving about 1800 on a Thursday in July and leaving Saturday early afternoon. Firstly, will it be easy to find a parking spot in the garage at that time of day? Can I leave my car there the whole time (40+ hours)? Does anyone know about how much the fee would be? Even if I park in La Spezia and take the train in, I still need to park my car somewhere, so the same questions would apply. Any information is appreciated.
Hi - My family and I will be travelling from Pisa-> Riomaggiore on April 1, 2010. I read somewhere that the elevator at the train station closes in the evening. Does anyone know if this is true and what time the elevator closes? I want to try and time our arrival so that we can take advantage of the elevator if possible . . .
On 31 July we want spent a day at Cinque Terre travelling by train from Firenze to La Spezia and Riomaggiore; then buy a Cinque Terre ferry card because it enables an unlmited number of journeys on the ferry-boats in the Cinque Terre Marine Reserve from Riomaggiore to Monterosso. But I didn´t find the timetables for each stop. Can you help me? Thanks
Hi, Does anybody know if there will be season schedule of train from Genova to Riomaggiore?
We plan on spending a few nights in Cinque Terre before we pick up a car and drive to Tuscany. Does anyone know if any of the towns in Cinque Terre offer rental cars or would we have to travel to La Spezia to pick up a car? Thanks!
Has anyone stayed at Affittacamere Roberta (cinqueterre-camere.com), run by Roberta Veneziani & Claudio Follegot? They have rooms with the following titles: Blumare, Arancio, Fragola, Limone, and others. I made reservations for a stay there in early May of this year, and can't find any reviews. Also, does anyone know what the weather is like that time of year (May 11-14). I hope they rainy season is passed by then. Coming from Florence, what train station should I go to in La Spezia? When I look online for tickets from Florence, it says there are multiple stations. Thank you in advance for all reponses.
