I'm going with a couple of friends to Rio for Carnaval 2008. Does anyone know of some trustworthy site or person that can rent us an apartment in Ipanema or Leblon? All contacts will be very helpful. Thanks!

I'm just trying to book a studio in Ipanema.I couldnt find any info or reviews about the person that I want to rent the place from....Any tips on checking the person before i'll transfer money to him? Thanks! Angie

By the way... I'm going to be there for carnaval as well,Im wondering if I HAVE to buy the tickets to the parades online,before,or it's ok to buy them just on the day?Did u guys buy any?

Hi, If you haven't found anything yet I rented a flat from a Mrs Heloina last year and her flat was simple but nice and clean and she provides you with bed linen and towels. The price is not too bad. I've rented flats before that will look OK on the internet and when you actually see it turns up to be horrible. Becareful with places that the utility bills are not included as you might get done in the end, even if they say that they will show you the bills, in the end they will make up some excuse and say that they can get it, than they will try and guess how much you've used and that's how they'll take a little more money out of you. The only thing that I'm not sure if you'll like about Mrs Eloina is that I think she only has flats in Copacabana, anyway her telephone is: (21)25214278 or mobile:(21)91351018 The code to phone Brazil is 0055.
