Hello there, Can anyone suggest a site where I can research buses from La Spezia to Rimini? I am looking at the train (Trenitalia) and it seems to take a long time, about 5 hours. I am wondering if a bus would be faster. Thank you!
Hi. I can't find bus information so I looked at the Michelin map site. If you drove a car, it is 329 kilometers and would take a little over 3 hours. A bus would have to stop several times and go off the main road into the towns so it would probably take longer than the train. The train may be your best bet unless you want to rent a car . . . and that is assuming you don't get lost on the way. Train service in Italy is usually excellent so I'm betting you would get there faster on a train. I hope someone who understands the Italian bus system will give you better information. We use the bus inside towns but have never taken buses any long distance. We usually drive or take the train. Good luck.

May I echo Beausoleil's caveat, "assuming you don't get lost"? We drove from LaSpezia to Rimini (although we chose to stop along the way in Parma and Ravenna) but got lost repeatedly even though much of the journey is via Autostrada. Unless your Italian is passable, you won't necessarily be able to interpret signs. We eventually got where we were going and, since we weren't in a hurry, some of the "lostness" was even interesting. But it sounds like you may not have time to waste.

Hello, from La Spezia to Rimini you cross the Emilia-Romagna region... By car, you have to follow highway A15 (Parma direction), then highway A1 (Bologna direction) and finally highway A14 and you'll reach Rimini. Even if automatic calculators say about 3 drive hours, I think you'll need 4 hours because A15 crosses the Appennini "mountains" and it is recommended to reduce the speed... By train I think you have taken a look on TreniItalia web site so I don't add info. In case you don't have many luggages and you don't plan to go outside of Rimini (I'd suggest "Riviera del Conero", take a look on "google.it/search?tbm=isch&hl..., in my opinion, I'd choose the train. Post again if you need more details, I know well my Country. Bye! Fabrizio

Fabrizio, The original question was about bus service from La Spezia to Rimini. I couldn't find a bus service to cover that area. Is there one? If there is, do you have a web link to it? Just curious. Thank you.

In Italy bus services (public services I mean) are often used only to reach areas in short distances. It's rare to find services from, example, Venice to Milan. Anyway now I try to take a look if I find something...

How to travel by bus in Italy? It is not so common, in Italy we prefer car, train or plain; anyway here you are some bus companies web sites. Thank you Fabrizio. I saved the web sites and hope they will help someone. I don't know if the original poster has come back for his information or perhaps has decided to take the train instead. We usually drive but many people don't like to drive on holiday. Thank you and I hope you are having a happy Easter holiday.
