hi there,i am a newbie here:) we plan to travel in Latvia, i've never been there and know nearly nothing about it. could someone give me some advice on how much i need pay for the tip after a dinner in a restaurant or how much is suitable to pay the taxi driver,doorboy....etc..? thank you very much for your kindly replies:)
Bookmarking out of interest for my forthcoming trip. Tipping is not the norm in European countries as it is in e.g. the US. It is not automatically expected and never more than 10% or so. As a European I rarely tip in Europe, just rounding up restaurant bills (although never when service charges are included) or taxi fares when it seems appropriate to do so. I shall be interested to know if Latvia differs from the European norm in this respect. The official tourist info site has advice which suggests it does not: http://www.visitlatvia.lv/en/tipping
