I'm going to London in late November, and by bus, to a show at York House. A friend told me to be sure to go early to look around the river area, as it is very beautiful. Where is a nice place to walk around, and maybe visit a bookshop? Thanks much. Barbara
If the theatre is on the Strand you're right on the river - I'd walk to Convent garden and have a look around its really close. Theres loads of cafes around there to choose from there.

Ahem...It is the York House in Twickenham, closer to Heathrow than Covent Garden. The riverside paths at Twickenham and Richmond are lovely. maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&h... Over the bridge into Richmond will take you into bookshop and gallery territory.

Have you gone yet? Take a look at my Richmond and Twickenham pages, if not:-) Great bookshop , Langton's, in Church St, just beside York House. The riverside walk, from Twickanham to Richmond,is lovely- then lots of cafes and restaurants in Richmond, when you get there:-)

Just realised I am a year out! Hope you had a good time anyway. You don't appear to have come back to VT?
