My son and I are visiting Reykjavik from 6 -12 December and would like to know if any churches will have Advent/Christmas music in concert or services during this time period.
How far in advance should I book my flight to Iceland from the US in March for the lowest amount possible? I typically buy plane tickets 4-6 weeks in advance to get the cheapest flights. Would this work for getting cheap flights to Iceland as well?
My dad told me that there is this tradition in Iceland, where once a year, they close down the streets for the whole weekend, so the teenagers can run wild, party, and do what teenagers do. I think it's to celebrate either the end of winter, or start of summer, but I am not sure.
Does anyone know what I am talking about?
I would really like to know more about this tradition, and look at videos of it.
My friend and I want to go to the Jokulsarlon lake & South coast on Sunday 24th November, but it is only available on a private jeep tour at ISK 135000. There are 2 spare seats in the car. Would anyone like to buddy up with us?! Cost would then be ISK 33750 each. We are 2 females aged 30 so let us know :)
As a matter of work I have to go to Iceland from this month until May when I want.
Any of you know when is the best time to see Northern Lights there? I've never seen them and would love to see them.
Is there any place to look them better?
Hi all - I'm very interested in seeing Iceland this coming January. I'd rather not join a tour group but I thought I'd best check whether it's actually conceivable for a tourist with no grasp of the language to get around and see the sights without the help of a tour. Any insight would be appreciated!
