      car rental fares

      Easter Island 49 minutes ago

Hallo my friends. The Insular car rental company gives me the total amount of money according to the days of renting, but after that refers also to a "monto a reservar" and gives a smaller amount of money. Do you have any idea of what exactly could this amount be?

      Santiago Yesterday

Hallo. Pls can you tell me some safe places where one can have a night walk, just to see buildings or plazas lighten and take some photos or even stroll aimless? Places not too noisy with clubs etc. but with some spots to have a beer perhaps. Thank you.

    • W trek in early April

Torres del Paine Jan 31, 2016 at 6:16 PM

I’m planning to do W trek for 5 days by myself in the first week of April. It seems very expensive to join the travel agency even without a guide. Is it not safe to do trekking alone in April? I am a female and have had some hiking experience but not expert. Any comment would be appreciated.

    • Where to stay? Puerto Natales or inside Torres Del Paine National Park

      Chile Jan 21, 2016 at 3:06 PM

      Hi Everyone,

We will be in arriving in Punta Arenas at 11:35pm coming from Santiago and staying for four days before going to El Calafate.

We are looking for some advice about whether to stay in Puerto Natales or inside TDP National Park.

Whilst in Patagonia we would like do:

A Full day trek in TDP
Take a boat cruise to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers or anywhere else you would recommend
      Kayaking trip
      Horse Riding

Do you think we should stay in Puerto Natales or inside the park?

Also what is the best way to get to Puerto Natales and TDP from Punta Arenas? Can we travel late at night or should we stay a night in Punta Arenas and travel in the morning?

      All help is appreciated!

      Best hot springs in Chile?

      Chile Jan 17, 2016 at 3:06 PM

      Hello everyone!

I'm looking for hot springs to visit on our car trip from Santiago to Puerto Montt. Anywhere you can soak in hot mineral water for a couple of hours. Places like Termas de Colina would be really great: open-air, great views, and not a yuppie spa. Completely wild would be ideal but we don't mind paying for the privilege either.

      Thanks a lot in advance!

      renting a car

      Santiago 22 hours ago

After having seen most of the highlights in the typical centre of the city fro 2 days, do you think it would b?e a good idea to rent a car for the third and fourth day? One of them we want to travel to Valparaiso and if we finish early from there we can use the car to drive anywhere else before ending in Santiago and on the other day we can reach further interestin spots of the city, which could be reached by metro but a car would also give more freedom. Do you think its useless?

      Wine tasting in Chile?

      Santiago Jan 17, 2016 at 2:39 PM

      Hello fellow travellers!

Do you know where are the best places to go to for wine tasting in Chile please?

I have googled around and all I could find are guided group tours crammed into a very short time.

We would rather prefer a simple opportunity to sample, unhurried and unhassled, a few wines of our choice, even better with some nicely paired cheese, and maybe buy a couple of bottles afterwards.

Are there places like that between Santiago and Puerto Montt?

      Thanks a lot in advance!

Santa Cruz Jun 10, 2012 at 8:58 AM

I am arriving at the airport in Santiago, and need transportation to my hotel in Santa Cruz. I will be hooking up in Santa Cruz with my tour. Can anyone suggest alternatives--bus, private transportation, car?

      Lima Dec 1, 2010 at 2:23 AM

I will arrive at Lima airport at about 10:30 and leave Lima by flight again at 17:00 on the same day. I have never been in Peru before. Is there enough time for me to travel between downtown and the airport during those few hours? Is there traffic congestion in that route? Any advice will be much appreciated.

    • Wine tour in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz Mar 4, 2004 at 6:04 AM

Hi, I am a Canadian living in Chile with my husband and two children for the past four years and loving it. Can't beat the weather especially up north in Antofagasta and beyond. My husband and I are planning a trip to Santiago in May and thought we might take a wine tour. Friends suggested Santa Cruz as a great place for this. Is May an okay month to go or should we just hang out around Santiago and find something else to do?
