Hello, I need some help. Does anybody know how to commute to the DSWD Bldg in Batasan Complex, if coming from EDSA? Thanks very much!

Whoa! This is tricky! Not because its a winding route but rather the places/crowds that you'll have to pass thru are not very desirable for a commuter. And there is no "permanently direct" means of transpo to the building itself other than via a cab. Here are the options:

    1. From south EDSA (up until Kamias) hop on a bus bound for either Fairview, SM-Fairview, Almar, Bagong Silang, Lagro, Tungko or Sapang Palay. Get off at Litex. By that corner where you get off (its some kind of a bustling talipapa area), take a tricycle to DSWD. Alternatively, you can get off at "Batasan" which is actually the Sandigan Bayan Bldg. (this is way before Litex), then from the corner where you get off, take a tricycle to DSWD. This is a longer tricycle ride and will probably be more expensive. And its also a bustling talipapa area where you take the trike ride hehe

    2. From north EDSA or if you take the MRT from either north or south, get off at or near the MRT 's Quezon Blvd Station. On the corner, there are a lot of jeeps, vans or FX that go to the above places mentioned. Hop on any one of them to get to Litex or Batasan (prefer Litex) but avoid anything that goes to UP or just Philcoa as that would not reach your destination.

    3. You can also head to Philcoa by any of the above modes. From the side of the road or just behind Jollibee are jeeps that say Batasan. Not all of them will go to the DSWD area though. Most will already terminate at the corner of commonwealth Ave and the Sandigan Bayan Building.

Try this to get your coordinates and better imagine your way there:
Go to wikimapia and search for "batasan complex, quezon city". As of now there is only one search result so click it (even if it says San Mateo, Philippines). When the result is displayed, the big hexagonal (diamond shaped) compound in the middle of your screen is Batasan BUT thats not your destination. Look to the upper-right across the road from the complex and you see a white building that looks like a letter H lying on its side. Yep, thats DSWD.

Now, look or pan to the left of your screen and you see a big road that vertically crosses your monitor. That's Commonwealth Ave a.k.a Don Mariano Marcos Ave and thats where all of the above buses and jeeps pass by. Move your screen a little bit up and you should see the road that connects to DSWD (that's Litex). Or move a little bit down and you should see the road that connects to DSWD. People call it "Batasan" but the landmark there is Sandigan Bayan Bldg.

Also try panning your screen further down so you'll get to see Philcoa and even EDSA.

Try zooming those places so you know what to expect. The beauty of wikimapia! You learn from those seemingly senseless and stupid labels/remarks!

    Hope this helps :)

This is the easiest (I live near the place)

From Edsa/Quezon Ave travel to Ever Commonwealth
From Ever Commonwealth (waiting station) take Bagong Silangan jeepney (sa pila)
Then tell driver you wish to get down DSWD Bldg - you'll never miss it, these jeepneys passes near the DSWD

    good luck
