Quepos isn't too bad at all. Just be aware and you will be fine. Mostly crime of opportunity here.

Hi! I lived in Quepos for a month last year and I didn't have any problems... however friends of mine did. The main spots I would suggest you avoid is the bridge near the waterfront near the club Arco Iris (if you want to go to the club I recommend taking a taxi there and back - only take red taxis and confirm the price before you get in) - my friends were walking just north of this club and got mugged... only they had no money or valuables on them, so they were left (we were also told to avoid this area when we arrived - but my friends thought better). Also avoid the waterfront at night. Just be smart, but have fun! Quepos and Manuel Antonio is a really great area and I personally had no problems with pickpocketing!
