From Omani Government: COMMON VISA FACILITY WITH THE STATE OF QATAR In accordance with the Sultanate of Oman’s and State of Qatar’s governments endeavours to promote tourism between both countries, both governments have agreed to facilitate the tourist exchange through the issuance of joint entry visas for the countries mentioned in the list number (1). In this case he has to obtain a new tourist visa from the Sultanate’s Embassies or at his arrival at the Sultanate’s airports with a fee of (10) Omani Riyals, in case he intends to enter the State of Qatar on condition that he doesn’t enter another country (third party) prior to his arrival to the State of Qatar. The visa is issued upon arrival at the airport or border of Qatar. Travelers may apply online for the visa ahead of time When I speak to Qatar Embassy I was advised that you can travel to Oman and does not matter where your where in the world you come from. If you have a valid visa you can visit Oman or Qatar at any time when your visa is valid. I need your point of view VT: This summer I will be visiting Dubai & Oman I wanted to know will my joint visa be valid. My friend and I will visit Doha in mid Sep 2011 and wish to join a tour for The Sand Dunes Half Day Safari. I’ve gather the tour information from several tour agents and learnt that the minimum number of participants is 4, but we are 2 persons only and the cost is high. I’m advised to pay for 4 persons if we wish to join the tour. Is there any group tour for us so that we could share the cost with others?
I'am flying to India and have stayover in Qatar for 21 hours. Qatair airways are happy to arrange hotel and trasit visa, but I'm not very happy with their price (125 USD and just 3* hotel, I have looked on bookings and found 5* hotel for the same price). So my question is, can I get transit visa in the airport. I have Dutch nationality. I also called Qatar embassy, and they told me that they do not provide transit visa, but hotels can also arrange visa, or I can try to get at the airport. But, I need to know for sure, because if I am booking a hotel and have to know, that I would get in. Does anybody had some experience with this? How difficult is to get transit visa at the airport? Information on internet is very mixed.
Have any VT members every applied for Qatar & Oman Joint tourist e-visa? If so how long did it take for you get your E-Visa? Regards Dan30 portal.www.gov.qa/wps/portal...

We are considering a trip that would require transiting in Doha, probably not leaving the airport unless the layover turns out to be very long. Our "problem:" we are dual US/Israeli citizens, with 2 passports (plus my son has a Russian one as well). I know our Israeli passports would disallow our entrance into the country, but we will be traveling on our US passports anyway. But our US passports have many Israeli stamps, including our immigration visas. Questions: 1) are Israeli citizens barred from transiting in Doha? 2) will the airport officials even ask to see passports? 3) will US passports with Israeli *immigration* visas be a problem? 4) will the US passports with Israeli *immigration* visas be a problem if our layover is long enough to warrant a trip out of the airport? We can avoid all this by taking another route, but this one is quite a bit cheaper so I thought I would explore it. Thanks Judy judy@jchesley.com
Hello, I have a 13-hour layover in Doha. I arrive at 6:30pm and depart at 8am. Would it be possible to get a taxi and drive around the city at night? I cannot find any night tours of the city. Any ideas? Thank you.
