We are leaving for Punta Cana in 2 days. My husband seems to think we need to leave the resort, and even more crazy he thinks we needs to flag down the guys on scooters to take us?? What are your thoughts on this, I personally dont think this sounds like a good idea. We are staying at the Catalonia Resort, and want to go up to the shopping complex by Melia Caribe. Any thoughts?? We would be with another couple as well, so four people.

    • Where to order online Flowers?

Punta Cana Mar 31, 2014 at 7:02 AM

      Hi.

I have "google it" a lot searching for Florist in Punta Cana but it seems that none have a website. I only found one (http://www.sisayonline.com/). All the other doesn't have a website or they have lost the domain.
From what I read in some forums, it seems that the Hotel's can provide flowers but they are too expensive. I also try some international florist with international shipping but they are also very expensive.

Can someone help me? I would really want to send some flowers to my wife who will be working in Punta Cana for this week.

      Thanks.

I've narrowed my choices down to four resorts-help please?

by TheTravelSlut Online Now Jul 25, 2006 at 7:12 AM

I'll be spending a few days in Punta Cana in late September and have yet to book a resort because of the wide array of ratings.

So many resorts will be rated 5 star but I've seen half the raters give a resort five stars and in the same review the other half give it a one star. It seems people either love or hate the resort with very few neutral or middle-of-the-road ratings. The resorts I list below have all been rated higher than others more consistently however.

So, I am probably going to toss a coin to choose between:

      Secrets (adult only)
      Paladium Bavaro
      Iberostar Bavaro
      Club Med

unless I missed something and any VT'ers want to dissuade me.

I'll be happy to entertain any thoughts.

      Thanks!

Any suggestions on a beachfront all-inclusive resort for September?

by TheTravelSlut Online Now Jul 5, 2006 at 4:05 PM

I just booked a flight to Puna Cana, Dominican Republic for late September. This will be my first trip here and I was hoping for some feedback on some beachfront all-inclusives. A quick check of some friends provided me some conflicting information and opinions.

I'll be there 2 nights and since it is my first trip, I am not adverse to booking one night in one place and another night in a different resort unless someone feels that is not a good idea.

      Thanks for reading.

There are 15 of us staying here. Are we going to have a good time or what? How does this resort compare to others? We plan on drinking heavily the entire trip, does this hotel have good bars or are we going to have to travel outside the resort to find some action.

How is the location of this hotel compared to the others.

      We appreciate all your insight

Is the pool clean? I was reading trip advisory online and one guest had said there were babies in diapers in the pool. I would think this would be very unsanitary.

by babyblues Online Now Aug 12, 2005 at 12:17 PM

Hey everyone, hope all is well. A few of my friends and myself (about 4 people) were given the recommendation of punta cana for spring break by our travel agent. We do not want to go to the typical wild and crazy spring break destinations like cancun and such, and are highly considering punta cana, we heard its goregous. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me a good place to stay, we are willing to pay more money in order to stay somewhere nice. We just want to be close to things and not have to go too far to get places. Basically lay out on the beach and then go out at night to the discos somewhere safe were others our age will be for spring break. are there any complexs that offer nightlife right there that we would like, i was looking into the barcelo bavaro palace resort is that a typical place for springbreakers or are other hotels better? If anyone knows anything that could help us, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!!!

June...Snorkeling near Punta Cana and/or Altos de Chavon?

by bobbie59 Online Now Feb 16, 2004 at 12:51 PM

We will be going to Punta Cana in June (heard it's the rainy season then, will there be mosquito or other problems?) Group of 4 adults, one 11 yr. old who like to snorkle in shallow waters, not rough waves. Would prefer nearby. Any advice or tours to check? Staying at the Sunscape. Also would like to go to Altos de Chevon- would a combo trip to the Catalina or Samoa Island be possible? Thanks everyone reading.... Bobbie59
