How does one explore the shopping, the "downtown", meaning is there a way to jump on a bus and just explore on ur own, no tour guides, just go anywhere, and is it safe? also what kind of shopping is there close to the hotel zone, Ill be staying at the Royal Suites Turquesa in April
This is fairly a 'new' tourist destinations so the most shopping you'll do is either at San Juan Shopping Center or Palma Real Shopping Center. You'll be closet to Palma Real Shopping Center and they do have shuttles that transport people for FREE; however, I'm not sure if they go to Royal Suites Turquesa. The shopping centers are very safe and nice also very expensive, at least 30% more than what you will pay in the states. Watch out for your savvy concierge/taxi/transportation company that will charge you an arm and a leg and please don't get on a motortaxi aka motoconcho it is the most unsafe thing you can do.
