Sand Flies in Tioman

Hi planning a trip with my family and we have 2 young kids. have heard that there are lots of sand flies in Tioman esp at berjaya. Anyone has inputs on that?

    I was in Pulau Tioman recently and I found no sand flies but lots of mosquitoes.Mosquito nets were provided at the place where I stayed.
