    • Buying stobe and arm for underwater photography at LCCT/KLIA

      Kuala Lumpur 22 hours ago

Does anyone know of a camera shop where I may be able to pick up a strobe and arm for underwater photography at or near LCCT (the Air Asia terminal in KL) or KLIA (the international airport). I have a 4-hour stopover on the way to Indonesia and really need to get these items. If anyone has the contact details (email or phone) of such at shop, at either airport (I'm at LCCT but can get to KLIA in 20 mins) or within an hour round trip reach of LCCT that would be perfect as I may be able to contact them and get them to order what I want even if they don't stock it.

I would be enormously grateful for any help!

      Getting around (staying at Berjaya)

Pulau Langkawi May 23, 2013 at 10:32 AM

Hi VTers - it's been a while since I've visited the forums, but I know I can count on the expertise here! I'm staying at the Berjaya Langkawi with my other half for the last week in September (should be a quiet time in Langkawi, I think?). Now, while we were sold on the chalet concept, we really aren't big resort people and want to be able to explore the island and eat out independently. My understanding is that the Berjaya is fairly cut off (except for the Oriental Village which doesn't appeal), so we're wondering how would be best to get out and about.

Is cycling feasible, or is this only suitable for short journeys? Would you recommend car hire? My partner owns a scooter in Italy, but I'm not sure how safe renting one of these is in Malaysia? The last one we rented abroad (Uruguay) came with one-size-fits-all helmets which wouldn't have done very much in a crash.

      Many thanks in advance!

hello! we are looking forward to visit perhentian islands. we were already at d'lagoon in 2001 and it was very quiet, nice beach and beautiful snorkelling. can really recommend it for a relaxing holiday! have seen turtles laying their eggs at night and met nice people. we first thought to go to redang this time, but after a research on internet we saw that perhentian is fitting better for our holiday. we like a quiet, relaxing accommodation where you have nice possibilities for snorkelling and just lay lazy at the beach and read a book. in the evening we would like to enjoy good food, and if there is the possibility, drink a glass of wine. we saw that on most resorts alcool is forbidden. the first ten days of our trip we are going to sabah, then KL, after that we want to go right to perhentian islands. we plan to go to turtle beach creek for 4nights, then perhentian island resort, and at the end impiani resort. has anobody been at one of these resorts? or can somebody recommend another resort? thanks everybody for your answer!! greeting from switzerland! petra
