Driver's License for small scooters (under 50cc)

      Malaysia 2 hours ago

I have a follow up to an earlier question issue, re.motorbike licensing in Malaysia. Does anyone know what Malaysia rules are concerning small electric bikes? Here on the west coast of Canada and in Washington State (USA), there is no extra licensing needed for small (49 cc or less) electric bikes. You can use your regular (auto) driver's license: Malaysia? Thanks

      Borneo Apr 30, 2013 at 10:11 AM

      Hi all,
I'm doing a trekking this summer on Borneo: starting from Bakalalan, crossing the border to Kalimantan and ending in Sabah (Long Pasia).

It will start in the last week of july and end in the first week of august.

It will be great expedition: lots of rainforest, wildlife (hopefully) and of course a guide etc. It won't be an easy trekking, but what's wrong with a challenge?

If someone is interested, let me know!

      Thanks a lot,

      Langkawi to Koh Lipe

by cheekin22 Online Now Aug 2, 2012 at 2:12 AM

Greetings, I bought an air ticket to Langkawi in early of October. Unfortunately, I notice the ferry to Koh Lipe only operate from the end of October onwards. So I think my alternative way to Koh Lipe is to take the ferry from Langkawi to Satun (the name is Tammalang pier?) Then from Satun pier travel to Pak Bara to catch the ferry to Koh Lipe. (Seem like a long journey - any better alternative?). Is there any ferry travel directly from Satun to Koh Lipe in October? May I know how far from the Satun pier to Pak Bara? Any public transport to go to Pak Bara from Satun pier and how much? Many thanks.

Hi all, I am going to langkawi in mid july with my husband to celebrate my birthday . Please kindly suggest any good activities in langkawi. we will stay for 3D2N only. My plan is roughly estimate as follows: first day arrival in langkawi airport at around 2pm , car rental in the airport. drive to the hotel swimming in hotel and then celebrate in room with a free cake given by the hotel then go out for dinner and drive around (please suggest where we can go to have a nice and good meal with reasonable price, where we can drive around ? where will have big supermarket or duty free shop for soveniors ?) second day due to my husband not really enjoy the watersport so ignore the snorkeling activity go to hunt for breakfast area/ take in hotel (please suggest any good area and cheap for breakfast), may be walk around the resort as we stay in holiday villa go to oriental village, kuah, eagle square, drive up to Gunung Raya( please suggest the sequence on the above area), any night market we can walk around? third day breakfast in hotel and relax in hotel and then leave hotel head to airport back to penang in the afternoon Is this a good plan in langkawi trip? If not , please suggest another betterplan for us. Moreover, we will spend one day in penang before leaving malaysia and back to Hong Kong. Anyone can suggest me where will have good food and good area to go around in Penang as we will arrive penang in the afternoon time? Thx

      Hire Car Petrol Fueling Options

by Melbourne_Dave Online Now Feb 18, 2012 at 9:10 PM

I have been reading this forum and find many topics very helpful for tourists. I will be visiting Langkawi in March, we are 6 people (3 couples) and we plan to hire a car on arrival. We are shedulled to arrive at Langkawi airport at 2025 and have booked accomodation in Kuah. I have read on this forum that often the hire cars have little to no petrol when you pick them up. We do not want to run out of fuel. Allowing time for baggage collection and completing the hire formalities, will we be able to purchase fuel at this time of night. I guess around 9pm. Are there any 24 hour petrol stations near the airport? I would appreciate any comments on this subject. Thank you.

We don't have a slightest bit of idea about what to do at night. To sum it up, I want to know any kind of tours/trips during the night (after 7 pm, better if after 9 pm). We are looking for any kind of tour, from jungle trekking to a cultural show. Please link me to any tour operator that you know off or let me know any place you do know.
