Burningredberry, The answer to your 1st question - not advisable - normally october / november marks the start of monsoon season... it's gonna rain, rain and rain... and sometimes thru the news on TV.. the weatherman would say "it is not advisable for the fisherman to go out to the sea....bla bla.." (2) tourism.gov.my/destination/a... Pulau Kapas - pls choose state of Terengganu Pulau Tioman - state of Pahang (3) I've never been to Tioman but there are two types of boats.. speed boat and the other one is not so speedy boat.. i've been told tht speed boat will take u 2 hrs to reach tioman and the other boat is 4 hrs (4) it depends on the accomodation and the duration of yr stay there... but i think it's not gonna be tht expensive.. (5) food shouldnt be a problem i guess

The ferry from Marang to Kapas last from ½ to 1 hour, depending if you choose slowboat(cheaper) or fastboat(expensive). I dont remember the prices, but pretty inexpensive the tickets were. I recommend Flora Bay Chalets or Kapas Garden resort. Kapas Garden has a room for a 4 persons at least and cheap but cozy chalets for two.We were at Kapas Garden for almost a week and liked it a lot. Check more info on my page. There are only resorts restaurants, where the food is good and not so expensive. No shops(at least werent 1999) so bring your own booze if you are a heavy drinker. Resorts do have beer and alcohol for sell. Kapas is very nice island for total relaxation. Have a good time! Kimmo
