by cgf Online Now May 17, 2006 at 4:47 AM

Anyone have been there?
I found the Gayana Island Resort but they quote room&breakfast, have somebody been there? Restaurants?
I heard about Police Beach.. it is closed or far from this resort? any alternative? Budget alternative would be fine.

As far as I'm aware the only accommodation on Gay is the resort-for budget travel I suggest staying in the city and catching aboat over (15 minutes ride).

This is doesn't seem a resort-for budget travel

Never mind, I think I'll do like you seggest and catching a boat, I saw there are between six to nine ride a day, for sure in the evening I'll have more choise for reaturants and so on if I stayed in KK.
just one more questions, once in the island is it easy to visit?
I read Pulau Gaya is 3,665 acres and it has 16 miles of shoreline.

It is easy to visit-the island is actually separated by a fence and the tourist area is part of a national park so it's a lot smaller area to meander around. With the cholera outbreak again you are reading about the section of the island that is inhabited, so yes, you'll be fine. a bit hard to explain, but you'll see for yourself once you get there.

Gayana Resort is not for budget travellers. It has 2 restaurants & the food is good too. When I was there (maybe 2 years ago), their rate includes breakfast & boat transfers. It was a nice place!

I saw that Gayana Resort is quite nice, surely not for budget travellers but it's not that it made me to give up.
I look unsuccessfully for any notice about costs of the restaurants as they just sell B&B, beside I've not found any quote also no tips about them..
I tried for something else, maybe cheaper anyway at least more clear about how much I was going to spend as many times is not "how much" someone spends money but just "how". [it's my opinion]
Just yestardy I booked at Hyatt in KK, I saw is central to many things.
I followed the suggestion of Syetan and do from KK different day trips.
    Thanks for your help
