My wife and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary in Puerto Rico without our kids in late June and were wondering what hotel would provide beach access, have good pools but not be overrun with kids. We are debating between the Stellaris Marriott, La Concha or Ritz Carlton. They all seem to be similar price wise, so any thoughts on which hotel is preferable? Thanks.
Hello,
Does the city of San Juan have a visitor's pass that will allow entrance to several museums or attractions in old San Juan? Thank you
Are the hotels overly packed and touristy in Mid June. Im hoping to come down on my honeymoon and want to stay in the Rtiz, but i heard San Juan can be overly busy and I dont know if thats the feeling I want on my honeymoon,
Anyone have any idea on this?
We will drive into old San Juan for a day trip from Arecibo and would like to know where the best place for public parking is close to attractions and the trolley. thanks
Anyone familiar with San Juan Vacations?
What hidden costs should I expect with car rentals. Is it good to go ahead and pay for the toll road package? Where to drive to that's worth the time and gas? I'm really excited about visiting for the first time and don't want to miss anything. I look forward to your suggestions. I can't wait to get there this coming Tuesday. All suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
My friends and I are going to Puerto Rico in June. We land in San Juan at 2030hrs, and factoring in all the delays and messing around I figure we won't be able to do much that night except sleep. I need a hotel for one night, then we're driving to around El Yunque to stay. I'm reading about San Juan Airport Hotel and it looks passable... Is there a better option that offers a quick, late-night shuttle from the airport or is this the best choice? Any help is much appreciated!
Hello:
A group of 6 adults (mid to late 30's, no kids) will be visiting next week. We'll be staying in the Rio Grande area. Does anyone have first-hand experience with the ziplining and bio-illuminescent tours? Which/where are the good ones?
Also, we're interested in visiting the island of Culebra for a day. Where do you catch the ferry and where do we park to catch it?
We will be renting a car.
Thank you!
Car rental or plane?
I am trying to find just a guest room for only one person out it the countryside that is economical (non tourist traps) for the last two weeks of April. Are their any? Please offer some suggestions. I want to meet local people and savor local food, and experience local color and festivities. Can you recommend a quiet place in the mountains or the plantation farming areas?
How much is the current roundtrip flight? I understand 30 lbs. in carry-on is the weight limit for the small planes. Is this correct?
Hubby & I will be in SJ on a Fri/Sat in June before a cruise that leaves Sunday. We want to see the rain forest on Saturday won't arrive until Friday afternoon. We're trying to decide which tour to take OR rent a car for day and venture off ourselves. We'll be staying near Old San Juan at the Coral Princess Hotel. Would love ideas and advice. Thanks, Marilyn

Hello, I have purchased airline tickets to arrive in San Juan May 8 and depart 12th. We would like to enjoy the beach and the culture. I am looking for hotel recommendations in Isle Verde area. We do not need a full resort, just a quiet relaxing place, hopefully under 150/night.
Thanks, Jim

hi- we are a family of 5- parents, 9 year old and 5 year old boys and an almost 2 year old girl- and we are going to be in Puerto Rico for 16 days. Our plan right now is to fly in, rent a car and with a few ideas in mind, just wing it and find places to stay as we go. We have never been to Puerto Rico before and I am wondering if during this busy season we will have problems finding places to stay. i would also love any thoughts on what we should not miss. Thank you so much!
Hi, I am traveling to Puerto Rico this Christmas season with my husband, 3 year old son, parents, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I really prefer to rent an apartment/condo since it's more economical than staying at a hotel plus I get to enjoy the benefits of not being in a cramped hotel room. I'm looking at reviews and listings on Homeaway.com and VRBO.com. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? I admit this is my first time so I'm really nervous. Any suggestions on how to go about picking a nice place would be appreciated:)
Hi, I am planning a trip to San Juan for February 8-12. After doing some research it looks like Carnaval de Ponce would be a really fun day trip. I am thinking that Sunday would be the best day to go since that is when the main parade is taking place. We have already booked a room in San Juan for the entire weekend, so if we go to Ponce, it would only be for the day. Since I’ve never been to Puerto Rico and don’t really know what to expect, I am wondering what mode of transportation people recommend for getting to Ponce from San Juan. Should I get a rental car, or will it be a nightmare finding parking in Ponce? Can we get a bus to Ponce or will they be filled with other festival goers? Thanks in advance! Greg
FOLKS: we are vacationing in Rincon from March 11 to March 18 and most of the condos we have been looking at at have air-conditioning in the bedrooms only. I know this is a very subjective question -- but will it be hot inside a condo without air-conditioning throughout? Thanks, Steve
Hello there; I need help, I am a student visiting San Juan for studies and I need a place to rent for those 3 months. I have looked online but truly don't find much if anything outside of hotel stays which for three months... yah too much$. My school is in Hato Rey area but I've been told to stay best by Miramar, Condado, perhaps Santurce (some areas) Anyone know anything renting for the summer? Ideas? It will be very much appreciated. Also I am looking to rent a car for that time frame.
I am traveling to Puerto Rico with my teen daughter (16 yo). I need suggestions on where to go and planning the route for our "road trip." I am flying into and out of San Juan. We have 10 days excluding fly in/out days. Arriving 12/21. Departing 1/1. I have been San Juan twice. This is her first time. The idea is to take a road trip and rent a car at the airport and then return to SJ a day or so before New Year's Eve. What route do you suggest? Should we be going to Vieques or Culebra? Do we need reservations for lodging during this high season? I like the idea of just getting someone and then deciding where to stay but given this is Christmas week, will I be stuck? Thank you!! Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Hi We will be in San Juan for one night 26th Feb and then again 2 nights 10th and 11th March post cruise (ex FLL)...I am looking at staying at Hilton property as gold members to maximise benefits and currently looking at Double Tree by HIlton..does anyone know anything about this property. We do not have very long in San Juan...probably the afternoon and evening of the 26th Feb but will have travelled from Honolulu so will probably be shattered and then perhsaps 1.5 days on the 10/11 March ...we are not night time people so happy to get out and about during the day, so if you have any recommendations or must sees in a short period of time I would love to hear from you and thank you in advance
Hi, My husband and I are planning a trip to Puerto Rico next month with a 6 month old infant for 6 nights. We're flying into San Juan. I was looking for suggestions on what cities to stay in (split my time between 2 cities or make San Juan my base). We're going to rent a car, but wanted to know what would be more feasible with a baby. Also any suggested things to do in Puerto Rico with infant?? What we like: Nature, beaches and some culture. Unfortunately we'll be skipping on the water activities and zip-lining this time around =( Thanks -D
We nw eeo know where Were we can rent paddle boards in Boqueron, PR
We are celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary by taking all of our family from a city near Chicago (15 people, including us) to the island of Vieques from December 23 to December 30, 2012. We made this decision before we started looking at the cost of air fares. The fare to San Juan from here is usually around325 round trip. Imagine our surprise to find fares ranging from around 1200 to 800 for the same trip on Kayak if we go Dec 23 – 30. We were not only surprised but shocked because we are definitely not in the Donald Trump financial range. Our question is, are the fares liable to go down as Christmas approaches or are they liable to go the other way? Should we leap at the chance to buy them at the present very high prices or speculate that the airlines are just pegging them so high now because the dates are so far away? Another question is whether calling the airlines directly and explaining our situation might get us a significant break. All answers and/or comments are welcome. Thank you very much.
We are a group of 27 ages 1-78 celebrating my parents 50th anny in 2 weeks. We are staying in a house on the Wyndam Rio Mar property. We would like to visit Old San Juan for the day but need to find a shuttle company or someone that has carseats/boosters. Also someone that is not too expensive as we do not want a TOUR, only transportation to and from. Thanks!
I usually go travelling on my off weeks for work. Im in my younger 20s and wondering what advice people can give, anything is appreciated if you have travelled, anywhere in the Carib btw. Anyways, i dont prefer resorts or all inclusive neccearily because im just a single guy looking for the culture, i try to stay somewhat cheap. Any good night life to reccomend? towns? or attractions? Good places to meet ladies i am single? haha My ideal vacation would be to have a room on the ocean, cheap drinks, gorgeous women all over. Help mee out.
Hi, I'm new to this site and need help. I am visiting PR during the 1st week of September and would like to stay in Luquillo, Rio Grande or Fajardo for a couple of days. I'd like to stay in a room overlooking the ocean, but can't find one that is nice but not super expensive. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
Hi all, I'm planning to go to Puerto Rico for four full days by the end of June or beginning July. I was interested mostly in spending time in a nice beach, visiting the Old San Juan and, if possible, going to Vieques. Please does anyone know: 1) Which is the best beach in the San Juan area? Are there better beaches in other parts of the island worth visiting? Is is possible to reach them by public transportation? I don't drive, so unfortunately renting a car is not an option. 2) Is the Vieques visit possible in such a short time frame? If so, which is the most reasonable and decently priced way to go there? If you had to pick between San Juan and Vieques for the full stay, which one would you recommend? Thank you!
Hi - I am looking for a photographer in San Juan who can offer a combination of sightseeing & photography. The photographer would drive us to various spots and take our pictures there. Please send me a message if you know of a photographer who may be interested.
