I'm heading to Puerto Escondido in August 2004 and was wondering if someone could recommend a good hostel or budget type accomodation to stay at. I've heard great things about 'Surf Hostel Zicatela' but haven't been able to make any online reservations, if anyone knows the contact number so I could enquire and book over the phone I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
mayflower hostel is a very nice place in the center of town. clean and cheap. it's 2 minutes walk from the bus station.

It is not a hostel but a nice hotel but not that expensive, it is called Best Western Posada Real. That's where i always stay. Hope it helps.

i was there a week ago and there were lot´s of places to stay. the financial crisis has hit mexico too so they go less... more
