Does anyone have an idea of how much a taxi would be from the airport to centre of Valkenberg?
Dear All, I am traveling in Trieste, Italy. I plane to leave at February 05 in the morning. My flight is 6:45 am. It is too early, and the first bus arriving at the airport is 5:50. Do you guys think it is a good idea to go to the Trieste airport tonight and stay there? Thank you a lot!
I am trying to find the ticket sales site for the six days of gent cycle races on the web with little success. As this will be my first trip to these races has anyone got any tips on where to stay, getting around etc many thanks in advance VT'ers.
We were in Brugge 7 years ago and enjoyed it a lot, and love the beers. We are going again for 5 nights this September. Can any kind member give me an idea of what prices to expect to pay in € for good beers in the well know bars such as Le Garre, Brugs Beertje, Cambrinus etc? I know beer prices often depend on alc% strength, but we would just appreciate some idea so we know how much money to take!! Replies greatly appreciated, thank you! John
Hello, guys! I will go to a music festival in October in Wieze and I need a place to stay for 2 or 3 nights for max 30-35 euros per night. I won't have more :( So, I would like to ask you, please, could you help me to find it out? Thank you in advance!

Has part of the alterpiece been removed for restoration yet? We will be visiting Gent in early April 2012 and hope to see as much as possible of the original.
I am travelling to Belgium to stay with friends in the west of the country in the summer. I am considering having an overnight stay in Brugge on the way there, partly to break the journey and also because it is a place that I have always wanted to visit. I will have my 3 children with me aged 14, 11 and 9 and wonder what Brugge has to interest them. I am very easily pleased but my children less so and I do not want cries of "I'm bored" throughout our time there! If Brugge is not a place for kids of that age, I may be better to carry on to our destination. Any advice greatly appreciated.....
My family is planning to spend 3 or 4 days in Brugge, I was wondering if anyone could post some links of apartments that might be available for rent? Links to bed and breakfasts would be ok too.
Hi. I am an aviation and railway enthusiast living in the UK and will be on holiday in Gent shortly. I am wishing to contact a railway and/or aircraft enthusiast in the area who could possibly advise me on the best places to take photographs of these. Thank you. John
Hi. I am going to Gent shortly and will be arriving at Saint-Pieters station. I am staying at the Expo hotel which I am told has a tram stop outside. Can you tell me the number of the tram that I need to catch from the railway station? Thank you. John
Hello, Hope you can help me cause I really need it! :) Next week I will be travelling to Belgium and I need to arrive from Gent to Evergem. I am not decided yet what option is the best to arrive there (cause I don't really know my way around those cities) so I hope you can help me out: 1. What tram can I take from Gent to Evergem and from where exactly (taking into consideration that I arrive at the train station of Gent)? 2. If I take a taxi, which one do you recommend and which is also cheaper? Thanks so much! :)
As I am not from Evergem, can you please tell me where can I find a grocery shop near Koolstraat street? I don't have a car, so the nearest possible would sure help. :) Thanks a lot!
Any comments on this hotel in Brugge? Is it in a safe area? is it clean and centrally located?
My problem is that my 12 hour layover in Brussels is on Monday. I was excited about the prospect of 7 hours in Brugge until I read in the "Rough Guide" book that "everything is closed on Mondays." Are there somethings open that you would recommend that I visit on my walk about the city? Is it still worth the day trip? or is there somewhere else (other than Brussels) I should go as an alternative? Thanks
Hi I am travelling this Friday 4th from england, and arriving at gent-sint-pieters, to then get to our hotel, Novotel Gent Centrum, GOUDEN LEEUWPLEIN 5. Whats the best transport, bearing in mind all the problems with trams/buses at the moment? thanks
How far away is the hotel Cavalier (which is at Kuipersstraat 25) from the railway station? I will be arriving from Amsterdam (via Brussels) to Brugge by train. Is there only one raliway staion in Brugge and if it is not walkable distance, how do I commute to the hotel? Thanks in advance :-)
Would love to find an Abbey that we could visit. Thanks, Rick
Hi fellowtravelers, Hope someone can help me. I'm goin to Ghent by train 10th Februari. I booked a B&B in the Burgstraat/Burgstreet (near Gravensteen). What's the best to do: off train at Ghent St. Pietrs and taking the tram to Burgstreet/Gravensteen area. Or is Ghent Dampoort a better option, and if can you tell me which tram or bus I have to take to Burgstreet/Gravensteen? Many thanks in advance and happy travels peter

Do the guest rooms at the Ghent Marriot Hotel (Ghent, Belgium) have bathtubs or showers? Many thanks, FVB
We are going to Brugge by car in the summer. We were planning to be over night, but now we have started to think, that maybe we could go to Gent for night.Hotels are more expensive at Brugge, and I started to wonder,is there anything special at night-time?I noticed that there is no night-life-tips at VT at all. I don´t mean nightclubs or anything"wild",but would we miss anything,if we would come in the morning, and leave before dark? Sometimes we have been n very lovely and romantic town a day (like Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and when we like to go eat late at night, there has been only 2-3 restaurants open, and whole town so quiet, that it would have been the same if we would have slept at another town.
We are a group of approx 55 Athletes who will be participating at the Ghent Rowing regatta at the Watersportbaan from 7-9 May 2010. Can anyone recomend restaurants in the area which do good quality , basic food, Pastas and pizza. Are there student restaurants ?
My wife and I are planning an August trip to Bruges, and we want to go to the beach. Does anyone know the best way to get to the beaches near Bruges? Is the train the best way? Which beach would you recommend? Will it be good weather for the beach in August - we are assuming it will be - ? Thanks!
Hello, I'm living in Gent and I need to pick someone up at the Charleroi airport on a sunday at 20:30 ( 8:30 P.M.) by bus or train. I've searched http://www.b-rail.be/main/N/ but I can't seem to find the information, is there any other site I can turn to to check bus schedules? Anyone knows if there is usually trains/buses on sunday nights? Thanks a lot in advance! Vasco
4 of us will be spending a week in Brugge in October. We have rented an apartment in the old city area, and plan to use it as a base for day trips. We don't plan to rent a car, but use trains for transportation. Any suggestions for "don't miss" day trips? Thanks --
Hi We are going to be in Brugge over New Year. We would like to see the city and surroundings by canal, however I hear the boat trips do not run in Dec/Jan. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to hire a small boat? I am a professional Boatmaster and RYA Inland Waterways Instructor, so I am well qualified to handle small craft on canals. All the best Phil
