Hi! My friends and I will be going to Maasin (work-related) and we are searching the best or easiest way to get there. Is it better to go by plane Manila to Tacloban and then by bus/van to Maasin or Manila to Ormoc then bus/van to Maasin? And after getting through to airport how do we get to the bus station or van terminals? Thanks in advance! kathe..
Check if Waterjet or Supercat still service the route Cebu-Maasin. If they do, I think going via Cebu is a faster option as travel time (by sea) is only 2 hours. Tacloban or Ormoc to Maasin takes about 4 hours by land.

Sadly, no.. I've checked Weesam, supercat and oceanjet and they don't have any trips going to maasin.

When you get to the airport in Tacloban, there are jeepneys just outside the terminal which can take you to the van terminals. Just ask around which jeepney will take you to the terminal where vans bound for Maasin are.

Ormoc-maasin is a lot shorter than the tacloban-maasin road leg of your itenirary, but manila tacloban has more flights than manila ormoc route.

i enjoyed the ormoc-maasin trip. its just a bit over 100kms of good roads by air-conditioned van. and I think that would be the easiest and quickest. From the Ormoc airport take a trike to the "terminal" (that's where all jeeps/vans/buses depart/arrive and its just a few steps from the fastcraft pier). On arrival though, do look around as some of those vans for Maasin go to the airport to pick passengers.
