What would be most convenient way to travel from Manila to Maasin and further to Hilongos. I am planning to take a flight to Cebu and from there speedboat to Leyte. Is this the best way? Does anyone know the boat timetables between Cebu and Maasin? Is there recommendable hotels or resorts in Maasin? Or even Hilongos?
Based on experience, it is faster to go via Cebu then take a 2-hour fastcraft to Maasin. Check out the website of Oceanjet or Supercat. From Maasin, I think there are buses or jeepneys that go to Hilongos. Another option is to go via Tacloban and land travel to Maasin, but the land travel is around 3-4 hours. I stayed at Southern Comfort Inn. Very basic, nothing fancy.

Thanks for ur answere. That confirms what I've heard elsewhere, its best to fly to Cebu first. Somehow I cannot find the boat timetables neither for Oceanjet nor for Seacat from the web. Do you happen to know their web site?
