Hi all, We are planning our first trip to the Philippines and would like to stay in a nice resort, not too crowded, with our family (3 kids). My husband and I like to dive and do other activities with the kids. Where best to go? Langen? Miniloc? other? Should we split our time between 2 places? we plan to stay from 7 to 10 days. thanks!
does anyone here have an idea how much it cost to rent a boat that can take minimum 2 and max of 10 pax to tour around el nido and coron for 5-7 days...preferrably just one boat for touring both towns...
i'm just looking to see if Tao expedition is the better deal or if it's better to rent your own boat....
thanks!
Hello everyone,
My boyfriend and I want to do a 3 days, 2 nights island hopping tour in El Nido. It seems to be a great experience and they are not just visiting the standard places. The tour includes food, drinks, camping, snorkling and relaxing on the islands. However, we need at least four people for the tour, but we are currently only two. We'll start on May 9th and we'll be back in El Nido on May 11th....
So, who wants to join us???

Hello,
My husband and I would really like to go swimming with whale sharks! Our family will be vacationing in Coron from April 15-19th of this year. I'm wondering, do the whale sharks come around the Coron Islands?
Looking forward to your reply!
Hi,
Exactly 1 year ago a planned family holiday had to be abandoned due to impassable (for a family SUV) road conditions. I had planned to drive Puerto to Port Barton, and then Port Barton to El Nido. Regrettably the Port Barton road was nothing more than a dirt track with HUGE tyre ruts (40 to 70cm deep - no joke) baked cement-hard by the hot sun. Due to this, the second part of our holiday to El Nido was cancelled because I had been told the latter part of the road from Taytay to El Nido was similar.
Now, 12 months on, I want to fulfill my promise to my family for a holiday to El Nido. Once again I want to drive my own Rav4 SUV.
Can anybody with up-to-date local knowledge tell me how much of the Taytay to El Nido road is now surfaced and how much is still 'gravel'?
Secondly, assuming some of it is unsurfaced, and assuming the WORST CASE that it has been pouring with rain, could my family-filled Rav4 SUV safely navigate the road without damage!
My planned trip is April 22nd to April 30th 2013.
Thanks.
We are booked to travel to Coron, Palawan first week of August 2013, with our 14 yr old and our 1 yr old baby. Is it safe to bring along a toddler and do island hopping? Just say she will be geared up for safety precautions, like life vest and the likes. Any feedback who has gone through the same with their kids would be very much appreciated. Coron is such a lovely place and we are all (already) booked, it would feel really bad to leave our dear munchkin behind while we all are having fun in the island :(
How much will you spend if you rent a boat from Coron to Coron Island?
need answer asap :(
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with island hopping all the way from El Nido to Coron (or vice versa). I have found a company that does it, but I was wondering if there are any other options available, or whether it is something that I could easily organise once I am there..? Any help would be so much appreciated, thanks guys :)
Have a few questions before hitting the button for a flight in coron. 1. What's the best month to go to coron? 2. Is anybody there knows the best lodge/hotel with a cheapest price (but with nice & decent look with a good breakfast food) 3. Any suggestion for a best tour in our itinerary list? Thank you. Would appreciate all your answers. Happy Travel. =)
Hi! Has anyone been to Sangat Resort in Coron? How does one get to the resort from the airport? I will be with a group of 3 adults and 2 teenage kids. Only 2 in the group are scuba divers. What is the nearest snorkelling area from the resort? Is the beach entry dive off Sangat any good? Do you have other recommendations for lodging? What other activities/ destinations on the island would you recommend? Grateful for any relevant information you can share.
we will be at Coron this 3rd week of Jan, 2013, can you provide me a contact number/s of a tour guide/s...thanks!
Hi, Me and my wife will travel to palawan on february. We are planning to have a silent and peaceful holiday for 10 days. I am looking for an advice for a silent island, not too much people are living. Also: -We want to stay in a local hotel, we dont need a luxury one. -In some photos I saw some hotel rooms or bungalows which are bulild on the sea. These types are preferable. -White sand and clean sea is a must:) -I forgot to say, security is the first:) -We want to taste different tropical fruits. -Also I would like to go fishing very much. -We want to go to local restraunts for dining and for lunch. -Lastly, we want to stay in different island in everyday.:) Is there anybody who can suggest some paradises like mentioned above:)

Can you provide us with contact person and their numbers or their E-mail Address who can transfer us from the USU(Francisco B Reyes Airport to Coron Gateway hotel?
Hi Community! A small group of us are arriving in El Nido this coming Wednesday 6th, staying for a delightful 6 days. However, we are worried that an active low-pressure area (ALPA) east of the Visayas area is likely to intensify into a cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours, and although this is a long way from El Nido, in your experience will this bring bad weather for the coming week? Potential cyclone aside, if the forecast is stating rain (which it is for our entire stay) will this be unpredictable? Or partly cloudy with showers? I know this is an age old question and no-one can predict the weather completely, but we would really appreciate some opinions based on your valuable experience. Thanks so much guys!
Greets all! Would anybody out there have a ballpark idea of the cost..taxi of jeepney if its available..from the pier at Coron to the airport at Busuanga? Thanks in advance... :o)
Good Day sa lahat. Meron na akong ticket papuntang Coron Palawan sa May 29 until June 01, 2012. Kaso wala pa akong napipiling accomodation or tour guide. Mag-isa lang ako na pupunta dun (backpacker). Any suggestion? Salamat...God bless always.... =)
Can anyone please direct me to someone who does a decent Underground River tour? Need to arrange one for 1 June 2012. Thanks in advance!
hello everyone - need some help, please? we plan to visit coron by aug this year then i recall an acquaintance saying that there is no need to reserve a place - i.e., there are budget villas to rent (near market) which allow guests to cook, et.al... how true? and how much more or less? Thanks much.
How much is the entrance and do you have to pay to ride the safari truck?
Hi VT'ers :) Anyone who knows what the contact number is of Ms. Susan (Villa Hermosa)? I have searched but can't find it, even on their website (blogspot actually). Left a msg on that site but quite not sure when I'd get an answer. Does anyone have Kuya Jong's current contact number(the boatman recommended here by some VT'ers)? Approximately how much (through your experience, perhaps? :D) would the usual 5 or 6-island tour (like in agency's packages) cost if we choose Kuya Jong? Does someone know if a child (3 y.o.) should also be counted as a 'pax' in boat tours or packages? Thanks so much! Hoping to hear from anyone soon :)
Hello! We are planning a trip to Palawan in the coming May. The route is planned to be as mentioned in the title, arriving in Coron and departing from Puerto Princesa after exploring Palawan for 9 days. From Coron there should be a daily boat service to El Nido, departing at 8-9am for PHP 2,200 (sounds expensive, are there any other options?), but I am wondering about the El Nido-Port Barton leg, as i havent found any schedules online, we'd prefer to travel by boat if there are any. How about the jeepney/bus schedules from Port Barton to PP? And about the accommodations, how "high" season may is in Palawan? should we book our accommodations in advance? Thats all for now :) greetings from snowy Finland!
I'm driving to El Nido for the first time in April 2012 with my wife, teenage son and 9 year old daughter. I've been on-line for several days looking at various places to stay and reading reviews. Here's what I've found..... Some places in the town are ridiculously expensive (as in Php6000 per night) BUT have some horror stories posted against them as regards cleanliness and customer care. Equally some of the budget bamboo cottages are insect infested and lacking in any sort of maintenance. I've stayed in locally built cottages before, but since I'm with my family I want a bit more comfort....and for Php6000 a night I would expect THE ABSOLUTE BEST not stories of green swimming pools and broken toilets! I'd appreciate any unbiased viewpoints on the accommodation in the town.
Can anybody tell me for how far the National Highway is paved (i.e. concrete surface)? I've heard so many different accounts including some horror stories! I wish to drive my car (Toyota Rav4) from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. Accurate up-to-date information would really help with my planning. Thanks.
I've always wanted to tour Palawan's stunning countryside. Has anyone ever driven by private car (Toyota Rav4 in my case) from Puerto Princesa to Port Barton (on the NW coast), then from Port Barton to El Nido (in the north), and then back to Puerto Princesa. I plan to leave PP early on day #1, 2 nights in PB, then day#3 drive on to El Nido, stay 2 nights and then on day#5 drive back down to PP. I'd like to know what the road is like once you turn off the national highway towards Port Barton, and then up towards El Nido. I'll be travelling with my wife, our teenage son and 9 year old daughter. Thanks for any advice you can give.
Hi ! Is there any freelance tour guide here in Coron. My husband and I will be going to Coron on 02 May - 05 May 2012. Please send me a message. Thanks Jhie
We are a Danish couple looking for 2-4 people to share a private booking with Tao Phillipines since their open tours are completely booked. We were thinking about going from CorĂ³n to El Nido from around feb 26-27, however we are flexible starting the boat trip from feb 26 to march 5. If you are interested let us know. Best regards, Sidsel
Anybody else suffered from SuperFerry Company which damaged our vacation in Philippines by canceling the freight from Coron (Busuanga) to Puerto Princessa, which was scheduled for January 28, 2012? We are planning to declare this case in court.
