What's the weather in El Nido during 1st week of June? We are planning to be there June 1-4, 2014
My partner,16 week old baby and I are going to Palawan, porta princess in December. Is it recommended and do we need immunization?
We have a group of 12 planning to head to Palawan early January. I heard that travel is not recommended due to the typhoon? Any updates or recommendations?
Hi. I booked a flight to Palawan on July 2014. I know it is in the middle of the rainy season but that's only the available date. Is it safe to travel there?
First of all, my very best wishes for everyone in the Philippines. The reports we get all over the world are devastating. I really hope the number of casualties doesn´t grow too much more and I really wish there will be many happy endings after all.
My husband and I are planning to arrive in the Philippines on December 2nd, this year. Everyone is telling us not to go... This may sound very ridiculous but it feels like kind of betrayal not to go now... of course we want to enjoy the beauty of the country, idyllic landscape, laid back atmosphere and friendly happy locals. That's why we chose to go but we know that we won't find the country in its "natural state" after the typhoon. Still, we want to go and we want to help if possible. Are these reasonable thoughts?
We were planning on going from Hong Kong to Cebu and from there to Puerto Princesa to explore Palawan (north). From Palawan, we'd fly to Manila and from there, back home. Most of our time (15 days in total) would be spent in Palawan.
All advises about the situation is very welcome. I wonder how the country will be in 15 days...
Thank you all!
We are planning on staying a Toby's for first 2 weeks
in December still after the Typhoon?
Are there still boat going from Sabang to PB?
Hope on the main island of Palawan the damage was not as severe as in Coron . My heart goes out to everyone

Hello, I'm planning to travel to Palawan in November and had a few questions. Most pressing is the terrorist/safety concern. I've read that Philippines is at an unrest and to avoid southern Philippines in particular if you are a tourist. How safe is Palawan in comparison?
And I'm looking at swimming with the turtles, does anyone know where to go in Nov? And a rather silly question, are there sharks in these areas? I want to snorkel but I'm not to keen on sharks.
Thank you very much!
Hi there- we're travelling from UK to meet our son from Australia for 4 days in Coron- October. We would like to spend more time than the 'tours' seem to offer in each place and do not really want to be 'up' at dawn. He needs to relax a little. Staying at Sunz en Coron and Princess Coron. We think we'd like to hire a small boat [ maybe share with another couple] and do some local sites; enjoy the boatman's cooking and get fair value for money. We would appreciate any advice you can offer.
Many thanks Mark
My friends and I are planning to go to Palawan in October. I hear the island has so many beautiful spots and we were planning to go backpacking to save on expenses but in the end, we decided we'd really like to find some nice beach resort where we can stay. But most of the resorts I've found on the net are quite pricey. :(
Does anyone know of a nice resort in Palawan(not so far from the airport) that's not so expensive?
If you could throw in some suggestions for great spots to visit, that would also be very much appreciated. :D
Could I hire a 4x4 to travel up Palawan from PP airport to El Nido stopping along the way? How far is Port Barton from PP and also from the Underground River? Think it's best to get out of PP but where to stay fro the River trip.? I need to start booking hotels and don't know how easy it is to travel. Coming in Sep and thinking the banca may bot fare well in stormy monsoon weather so better to drive.
Is it possible to go to Coron, El Nido and Puero Princesa for for 1 week? Coron is a must for diving the Japanese wrecks? Are the 3 places possible to do and how would you do it?
Hi, I will be visiting Palawan with family coming early august. Puerto Princesa is our touch down point. Hope to meet up local VT member for some advise or just to toast... cheers
We're planning to travel on Aug. 8-11, 2013 with a 4 yr. old and we plan to go to Calauit Safari Park. Any suggestions on the best transpo at the best rate possible? Which budget hotel would you recommend? Any other itinerary we can do aside from Safari Park? If we don't avail of airport transfers from the hotel, can we easily get a ride going to the town or to our hotel?
Could I ask if anyone had experienced staying in apulit island resort with a hard rain? me and my husband is planning to go there this July 20 and will stay there for four days,I am worried that we will be stuck there because of the rain or we cpuldnt enjoy our trip. Please give me an idea ! Hello! We are coming to El Nido July 24th early morning till July 28th afternoon. We want to do a great island hopping trip/aventure etc ... Tao Philippines looks great but they do not have a group trip on those dates, so we would have to hire a private trip which is expensive. We would love to find two people to join this trip and share the cost it would be 7,200 pesos per day for 4 people. We are two brothers from Spain 35 and 28 years old. Or if you have other ideas/suggestions let us know! Best way to reach email@example.com
I'm planning for a family vacation in el nido but i don't know how to swim. What tour would you recommend?
My friend and I want to travel in Coron these days, is anyone or couple want to travel together? If you can travel together, please feel free to contact me by cellphone in Ph: 09063138310. PS: I come from China.
We are planning to visit Sabang in November! Can anybody advise on the weather conditions and temperatures? Also I heard that there is a strong undercurrent in the sea and swimming, however we are really hoping to go snorkelling, can anyone also suggest some good snorkelling spots and how to get there if we are unable to snorkel directly off the beach?
Many Thanks :)
Hi all, We are planning our first trip to the Philippines and would like to stay in a nice resort, not too crowded, with our family (3 kids). My husband and I like to dive and do other activities with the kids. Where best to go? Langen? Miniloc? other? Should we split our time between 2 places? we plan to stay from 7 to 10 days. thanks!
does anyone here have an idea how much it cost to rent a boat that can take minimum 2 and max of 10 pax to tour around el nido and coron for 5-7 days...preferrably just one boat for touring both towns...
i'm just looking to see if Tao expedition is the better deal or if it's better to rent your own boat....
My boyfriend and I want to do a 3 days, 2 nights island hopping tour in El Nido. It seems to be a great experience and they are not just visiting the standard places. The tour includes food, drinks, camping, snorkling and relaxing on the islands. However, we need at least four people for the tour, but we are currently only two. We'll start on May 9th and we'll be back in El Nido on May 11th....
So, who wants to join us???

My husband and I would really like to go swimming with whale sharks! Our family will be vacationing in Coron from April 15-19th of this year. I'm wondering, do the whale sharks come around the Coron Islands?
Looking forward to your reply!
Exactly 1 year ago a planned family holiday had to be abandoned due to impassable (for a family SUV) road conditions. I had planned to drive Puerto to Port Barton, and then Port Barton to El Nido. Regrettably the Port Barton road was nothing more than a dirt track with HUGE tyre ruts (40 to 70cm deep - no joke) baked cement-hard by the hot sun. Due to this, the second part of our holiday to El Nido was cancelled because I had been told the latter part of the road from Taytay to El Nido was similar.
Now, 12 months on, I want to fulfill my promise to my family for a holiday to El Nido. Once again I want to drive my own Rav4 SUV.
Can anybody with up-to-date local knowledge tell me how much of the Taytay to El Nido road is now surfaced and how much is still 'gravel'?
Secondly, assuming some of it is unsurfaced, and assuming the WORST CASE that it has been pouring with rain, could my family-filled Rav4 SUV safely navigate the road without damage!
My planned trip is April 22nd to April 30th 2013.
We are booked to travel to Coron, Palawan first week of August 2013, with our 14 yr old and our 1 yr old baby. Is it safe to bring along a toddler and do island hopping? Just say she will be geared up for safety precautions, like life vest and the likes. Any feedback who has gone through the same with their kids would be very much appreciated. Coron is such a lovely place and we are all (already) booked, it would feel really bad to leave our dear munchkin behind while we all are having fun in the island :(
How much will you spend if you rent a boat from Coron to Coron Island?
need answer asap :(
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with island hopping all the way from El Nido to Coron (or vice versa). I have found a company that does it, but I was wondering if there are any other options available, or whether it is something that I could easily organise once I am there..? Any help would be so much appreciated, thanks guys :)
