I'm planning to be in the Santa Fe (Dalton Pass) area during the 2nd week of February hoping to find any information on US WW2 losses in the area. Since I've never been out of Angeles, it would be great to have some information on the following prior to arrival:
- Decent hotels in the area?
- What's the weather like up there during February?
- Are there any spots where people who may know anything about WW2 hang out (older folks, scrap metal collectors, mountain men, etc.)?
- Any other local blogs or forums that may have info on WW2 in the local area?
I used to pass by that area many years ago when i used to live in Banaue so i would expect very little rain in February and not that hot, perhaps it will be a high of 27/28 in my opinion and the nights should be cool. Cannot remember if i already told you that my wife's uncle could not offer any ideas on downed planes or even where to start your search. The end of the war was 67 years ago so i think that you will have great difficulty but i wish you every success.
