hi to all vt members we have a scheduled trip in dumaguete this summer and we want to do sidetrip in bohol and cebu. Im just wandering which route is more practical with regards to transportation cost. I heard that dumaguete-bohol trip is too expensive for a bagpacker like us if you guys could provide me the best route in this trip we will really appreciate and if you could also provide us the name of the port or just the location of the port and also if you could provide us the transportation cost each trip. thank you in advance :)
Looking at the map, I would say you go Bohol-Cebu-Dumaguete or vice versa. There are ferries connecting Bohol (Tagbilaran) and Cebu with travel time of about 2 hours. From Cebu, you can take another ferry to Dumaguete.

i suggest Dumaguete-Siquijor-Bohol, they are connected by ferries and geographically close to each other. where do you specifically want to sidetrip in Cebu? Because the port of Cebu is a long trip from Santander.

dumaguete to tagbilaran, bohol will cost you 650php on a 1.5 hr trip

Hi, for me is Dumaguete to Tagbilaran would be a good route cause it will just cost you P 650.00 then Tagbilaran to Cebu will be P 520.00 if you do Tagbilaran to Cebu is P 520.00 then Cebu to Dumaguete is P 900.00

check the slow boats schedule of cokaliong or gp line. there use to be a connection between cebu, tagbilaran, dumaguete and mindanao. these will be the cheapest but would take more than 4 hrs between dumaguete and tagbilaran. bong

ive tried from dumaguete take a jeep to sibulan then boat to liloan cebu, about 20 minutes approx 50 pesos, there are aircon buses waiting to take you to cebu city
