Hi, I'm staying in a hotel on the outskirts of Providence. I would like to explore the city on foot and by taking trolleys. Where would be the best place for me to park downtown? Thank you. Arthur
Are you going to the Waterfire event this Saturday? :) I think the most central place to park is at the Providence Place Mall. You have to pay to park there but it's not too bad. There are metered parking spots on streets bordering the river as well. If you are staying all day, mall parking might be best. I think there's a 2 hr limit to metered parking. Sundays should be free for metered parking. No time limit.

just saw your posting today. As stated above I would highly recommend parking at the mall. It is not too expensive and very easy to get to. You can explore the city by foot, bus, trolley and easily find your way back to the mall. If you were looking to park outside the city it would depend what direction you are coming from. Using the Park-n-Ride with RIPTA might be a good option also. Have a great time if you haven't been here already. If you need any other info. just ask. Jim
