A group of over 50's friends will be staying in Providence on New Year's Eve. We are a fun crowd looking for places to hang out, maybe dance or listen to some music. Are there any places where us oldies will not feel out of place? We are not into dressing for the evening and enjoy our beer and wine.
New Year's Eve is long past, but there are other important festivities coming up -- Cinquo de Mayo, Memorial Day, July 4th -- and who knows when your friends might want to party? I think you'd really enjoy the Providence Sound Session, which takes place this year from July 6-12. There's plenty for younger folks, too, but I highly recommend the Block Parties on the final nights. It reminds me a little of the French Quarter in NOLA. As part of your age cohort, I'd also recommend Tazza (no dancing, though) and Temple.
