We will be in Progresso for several hours. Looking for best beach - do not want ot pay$$$ to go to one of the all inclusive places. Would like chairs, drink available and snorkling - appreciate any and all ideas.
There isn't a lot of snorkelling on the coast of Yucatan. Your best bet for an inexpensive and enjoyable beach visit in Progreso is to walk along the malecon (beach sidewalk) until you find an appealing restaurant with chairs and tables on the beach. Stake out a spot, order some cervezas, and maybe something to eat, and relax! Flamingos is a very popular restaurant, about 3 blocks away from the pier.
