Hi. I'll be traveling to Mykonos alone in early July - July 3rd through 11th. Would be great to meet up with some folks when there.
I will be travelling to Mykonos in July and plan to propose to my girlfriend while we are there, I have a few ideas whizzing about my head, but can anybody recommend any places, beaches, restaurants etc to give me a bit of starting point? Having never been before I'm going in completely blind, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Currently have 4 days booked in Santorini. Travelling on my own and starting to think that it will be too long. Thinking of going back to Mykonos for the other 2 days. More things to do for a single gay guy. Will 2 days be enough to see the sights of Santorini?
can i charter a small boat on friday 16th August to be able to catch a 13.40pm flight?

Please guide for each island. How to go about it for the individual islands?
Hi,
1. I would like to know the area where I can stay in Mykonos, when my requirement is to see the nightlife, shop, eat at restaurants, being able to make a trip to beaches. I really don't want to be in a beach resort where it might get difficult to go to town.
2. Any specific budget hotels, B&Bs where we can stay? We are going for our honeymoon.
Cheers!
Megha K.
We are a family of 9 including children.
This is our tentative schedule:
1st June Ferry from Athens to Mykonos 07:35 - 13:15
2nd June Ferry from Mykonos to Santorini 14:45 - 17:10
4th June flight to Athens and then on to Istanbul (Turkey).
Another option was that we could take the 01:25 am early morning ferry from Santorini to Athens (arrival 08:00 am), and then fly to Istanbul. (If advisable)
OR
We could reverse the process
1st June Piraeus to Santorini (Thira) 07:00 - 11:50 Star Jet
2nd or 3rd June Santorini to Mykonos 11:55 - 14:20 Super Jet
3rd June Mykonos to Athens ferry 16:00 = 18:50 Super Jet, or flight to Athens on 4th June from Mykonos
4th June Athens to Istanbul flight
I do not know of any other way to get to Istanbul from Mykonos or Santorini.
Please advise
Hi, I'm arriving in myconos in early may by ferry and travel to london same day. Is there a bus from the port directly to the airport? and where can i find the station?
also is it better to take a taxi? any estimates of the cost?
My cruiseship gets into port at 1:00pm and leaves at 9:00pm. How would I get to Delos?
Two questions about Mykonos:
We are considering renting a villa any advice for a family that includes a 3 year old?
Is there any Scuba diving?
Are there any archeological sites or cultural attractions, other than Delos, that can be done on a day trip?
Will anyone here be in Mykonos between April 26-May 1?
How do we get to Paradise Beach from Mykonos Town via Bus? What is the cost and the frequency of the buses on a Saturday in early May? What is the typical temperature at that time of year? Is this the nicest beach that is easy to get to? We are on a cruise ship and need to make sure we get back on time.
Hi! Am planning a 2/3 day trip to Mykonos in early June as part of a Greek Holiday with my wife & 12-yr old son. Would be arriving after a 2-day stop in Santorini & will move to Athens therafter. Just had a few questions:
1] Where should we base ourselves given the fact that we have only 2/3 days in Mykanos
2] Would love to enjoy a day on a beach - any suggestions where we shld be headed? Or would the beach options in Santorini be better?
3] Is the 3rd day in Mykonos a good idea - alternatively we could cut down the trip to 2 days and spend an additional day in Santorini (we currently plan to spend 2 days there)
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi! Am planning a 2 day trip to Santorini in early June as part of a Greek vacation - would be travelling with my wife & 12-yr old son. Since we have only 2 days, where shld we base ourselves - Fira or Oia? We would be arriving by ferry from Crete & would be moving to Mykonos from Santorini. Our main objective is to enjoy the breathtaking sunset that Santorini is famous for.

Hi, im new here from Singapore =) And im sooo interested to go to Santorini for honeymoon this coming June. Because of their magnificent view! But no nuts on how to go about going around there. We dont want to just stick in the hotel. But instead to go around but who should we get to bring us around there? To visit beaches, volcano or tram ride etc.
Any recommendations? As we thought of going free and easy instead of going in a tour group. Hope anyone could help! =)
Hi all, I am planning a trip to Paros in June with my family. We fly into Athens from Rome at 2pm & I would prefer to head out to Paros that day. Do I have time to travel to the port of Pireus and catch a ferry at 5.30pm. I am happy to get a taxi or private pick up from the airport. Or do you think this is this too risky??

Hi All, I'm planning for a trip during my birthday which falls in February. How's Santorini like in February? Advisable? or not?
I hope to be going to Mykonos in Sept 2013 with my wife and son who is 27 I would like to know if the place is still hoping like Aug. Hows the weather in the beginning of Sept. Thanks for all your help. I hope to be staying near paradise beach
Visited Santorini last 2008. Went to a jewelry shop where we purchased some beautiful silver painted flower rings. My husband loved some fat lady figurines which were seated on a wall shelve. I really would like to reach the lady from the jewelry shop who also was the designer of the rings I bought, to see if we are able to purchase the ladies throughout mail.
We're a family of five - three boys (15, 13, 7) looking to spend a few nights on only one of the four islands after a few days in Athens, before ferrying to Santorini to get to Kos to fly on Ryanair to Bari, Italy. We are interested in natural beaches, traditional Greek food in outdoor resturants, some history and archaeology - not nightlife and touristy stuff. Any suggestion on which island would best suit our interests?
My girlfriend and I are planning on backpacking/camping around the Cyclades for 2 months in july and august. We know that this is the most touristy time which hikes up prices and possibly crime so we were wondering if anyone can give us any words of wisdom on how you think we could travel affordably and safely? We are also wondering if anyone can recommend where two 20 year olds should go if they are looking for some rowdy, hip islands with nice beaches and clubs half of the time, but for the other half they would like somewhat secluded, relaxed islands rich in culture. Accommodation: We are bringing our own tent which will lower the cost of camp sites, but we are also hoping to find some cheap hostels or hotels to stay at in some places to freshen up. Food: For the most part we will be making our own food, with the exception of some nights that we will treat ourselves to eating out. Travel: We will be traveling in the cheapest ways possible while doing some island hopping (we would like to visit anywhere from 5-15 islands). If we could average accommodation at30 a day, food at25 a day and travel at15 a day, we would be spending4,200 on essentials. We know that we won't be living on bare essentials do this price tag will be higher, but does anyone think that this amount is possible to maintain accommodation, food and travel in high season? Any advice is greatly appreciated
We have seen that Akrotiri has reopened to the public. The greek ministry of culture website only lists opening dates as through Oct 31. Our cruise ship will be there Nov 22nd and wonder if Akrotiri will be open to the public on that date and the hours of operation. I would really appreciate a local being able to give me a response to this question or if someone has recently visited that can give me open days and times in Nov 2012. Thanks
