what shops are open on Monday,May 6th in Thessaloniki Greece?

We need essential information for a visitor , such as - is it worthy to visit the top in the evenings
or to try to reach during the day light ? is it a site with details about the restaurant in the top ? prices ? menue ?
what other activities we can have there in the evenings ?? and so one ( we are a group of 65 - 75 ) - thanks

We are a small group of people about 65-70 years old that will be in Thessaloniki for a week in May .

I,ve tossed idea,s around of my exit from Croatia and as in the past i have only seen Athens and the island so with this oppurtunity am exploring a route that gets me to Meteora to Delphi to Ancient Olympia. My thought was after Dubrovnik head into Montenrgro,Kosovo and then Macedonia where i,m told there is transport from Skopje to Thessalonika---once there i can use Greek busses to my choices. Any advise on that Skopje to Thessalonka link Any other thoughts on planned route please

I am considering all the options of Bus travel from Thessaloniki to ANY city in Montenegro, which I will be traveling in 5 days from now. After some research online, I'm concluding there is no direct route; meaning I need to stop in Macedonia (Skopje probably) and/or Albania (Tirana) to change buses. What's the best way to get to Montenegro? Take a bus to Tirana, Albania...and will it go directly to Tirana from Greece or are more changes required along the way?? And same question for buses going to Macedonia....is there a direct bus from, say, Skopje, Macedonia to Montenegro? Any help will be appreciated! Thank you!!

Hi! We are pilgrims trying to follow the footsteps of St. Paul. We will be on a tourist bus. Is this ok timewise? At 7 A.M. we leave Kavala to Thessaloniki. Two hours in Thessaloniki for a Holy Mass, quick lunch, and panoramic tour of the City just on the bus. Then to Veria for a short stop (about 30 min.). Then brief stop in Amphipolis (about 15. min.) Then on to Kalambaka where we plan to stay overnight. Is that workable? Really appreciate your help. Sincerely, Leo C.

Hello. In a month my wife, son and I will visit Sarti Greece. Our son will celebrate his second birthday in Sarti, so I wonder, is there any good bakery, cake shop, where we can order birthday cake? It doesnt have to be in Sarti, we can take it or have it anywhere in Calkidiki, even Thesalloniki. We just want it to be tastefull, then pretty. Hi there! I`m going to spend one day and one night in Bergamo and I fly with Ryannair early in the morning to Madrid. I would like to spend the night (or the last part) at the airport (as I want to avoid the stress of getting up early in the hotel and hurrying up to the airport). I don`t know anything about the airport so can anyone tell me if it is open during the night or it`s closed for a few hours (like Ciampino-Rome for example). Thanks!

Hi, I am going to be in Greece in mid-June. We are flying to Athens from Istanbul because I have read that the international trains to/from Greece have been shut down since February. We were then planning on heading to Thessaloniki from Athens and I was wondering if the train was running between those two areas. I was backpacking in Europe last year and didn't get to see Greece and really want to this year, so I would like to know how is the best way to get around. Also, from Thessaloniki I am planning on going up to Skopje and I've read that there is a bus and train between the two, but I want to make sure that what I was reading was up to date. Thanks!

Hello, Me and two friends will be spending a couple of days in Thessaloniki in mid-May, and as I realize that the city is loacted by the sea, my question is of course whether there are any good (or even acceptable) beaches for swimming and sun-bathing in Thessaloniki itself, or whether one has to go outside the city? Research has suggested that there are some nearby, at least.... so any suggestions are very welcome, as are directions; we will not have access to a car, so anywhere you can get with public transport or by an not too expensive cab-ride would be great, if they exist... I am christening my little girl in Thessaloniki in August. I have booked the church but need to find a restaurant / ouzeri / taverna for up to 70 people. Am not looking for anything fancy - but something with atmosphere, good music (or accoustics for music) great food, air conditioning and in an easy central location. If it has a nice view, is on the beach etc that is an added bonus. It's for a Saturday night. Ideally something traditionally Greek would be fab. All suggestions welcome

Dear all, I urgently need some advice regarding good taverns, bouzoukia or restaurants in Thessaloniki for the New Year's Eve. We are interested in organised show programmes, live music, dances or so. As another option, we would be interested in Chalkidiki and guess that it might be better, since towns there are not that large like Thessaloniki. You may also mention the name of the restaurant and I will get in touch with the bouzoukia. Are the New Year's couverts popular in Greece at all?

Hi, I and my husband will be travelling to Komotini on Saturday,23 October and then to Thessaloniki for a couple of days. We would like head our way to Skopje and/or Prishtina from there. I have checked TRAINOSE and it seems there are two trains daily to Skopje one at 09:44 and one at 17:04. However I'm not sure whether it is still the same.I tried to contact them to get confirmation over the phone but nobody picked-up the phone. Do you know whether the train still runs from Thessaloniki to Skopje? If it is not the case what are the other means of transportation to Skopje or Prishtina? I have read in one of the posts that it is possible to travel to Florina (in Greece) and cross the border and then go to Bitola. Are there taxis or buses from Florina to border? How much would it cost? And any idea how to get to Bitola from the border. I Will be glad if you can provide us updated information. Thanks, Phyllis

Hello As far as I understand, there are 2 bus terminals at Thessaloniki: "The Central Intercity KTEL Bus Terminal Makedonia" and "KTEL Chalkidikis Bus Terminal". From which one does the buses leave for Skopje? Thank you very much.

Hello all I need to travel from Thessaloniki to Athens but i was wondering if it would be worth my while flying this route rather than travelling by bus or train? I understand the bus is about 7 hours, maybe a little less. Can anyone recommend a budget airline that flies this route? Regards DG
